Classic resort course, looks great but not overly challenging and if you hit the ball straight you can enjoy the scenery and have a nice round - exactly what it intends I suppose. I will say the back 9 is much more challenging than the front and the holes make you think a little more

A Great day out @The Mere
Everything from start to finish was really good.Warm welcome in the Golf Shop.
Great practise facilities.
Wonderful putting tuition available & highly recommended.
The golf course was really enjoyable - despite me finding 10 bunkers ???????????
Food & beverages a tad expensive but nice, coffee was wonderful.
Overall a great day out and highly recommended

Course was in great condition apart from the bunkers on the front 9 which had barely any sand in them which made it tough to play out of. Reception and service were excellent.

Great course in a magnificent setting. Quite flat until the last couple of holes. First time I'd played and would definitely like to play again

Very good excellent fairways and greens bunkers had no rakes but obviously because of coved 19. Staff very welcoming.

Neat and tidy
Mere always comes with a good reputation. I'd not played it since a junior competition 20 years ago but it's still as good as it was back then.Lovely views, lots of tree lined holes, great contours on the greens - it's a good solid course

Lovely course, very easy to play
Booked a spa and golf weekend with the wife and played the course as part of it. Pro shop was really helpful and the golf starter explained some of the history of the course and the lovely houses surrounding it. The course itself is quite an interesting layout with very forgiving rough, which means high scores can be expected, I went round in 72 off a 8 handicap. Course condition was absolutely fine and I actually enjoyed viewing the surrounding properties as much as playing it. I would certainly be happy to play it again as part of a weekend away with the wife, but I think its potentially too easy for some of our guys as we rarely get away for weekends, so I doubt we would come as a society. Lovely hotel and facilities and the whole celebratory element of being in Knutsford is pretty cool. Would return on my own, but not with our society.Reviewer Rating

A beautiful location, with superb hotel/golf facilities. Chipping area could’ve better and the driving range expensive £5 for 35 balls; you do play into the mere though. Some of the areas off the fairways and around the green were patchy, from the wet weather and heavy golf traffic, I presume, but overall a fantastic days golf and lunch. The greens tees and fairways were some of the best I’ve played this year.
