Not impressed at all with maylands today. Played twice before and loved them both time but today was awful. Course itself was in decent condition except the greens which were very poor. Expect more for the money they charge. Which brings me onto the first problem. their 2four1 voucher policy. £30 is the normal fee but if you use a voucher its £20 rather than £15 as they decide that you will pay half the all day rate which is just stupid. Then despite them assuring us trolleys would be allowed on the day.. trolleys were banned so we had all turned up with cart bags and had to lug them around the course affecting the day. Shame really used to like maylands but today has put us all off.

Good value

Played in good weather. Started on the 10th, fairways and greens in good condition, bunkers still wet from previous day's rain but playable. Very friendly club and already booked for next week.

Tee boxex could do with a bit more grass and better maintenance greens are hard and very difficult to hold.

Nice well laid out course, one of those rare courses that actually have sand in the bunkers, unfortunately Maylands reputation rears its ugly head, by being heckled by following clients/members to hurry up.i was in a two ball

Nice course. Tricky but not too tricky. Keep an eye out for stray balls as a few holes are up on down on each other.

played 15-03-2014 - the course is much drier now than previous comments - not a bad course - lots of established trees. going to go back in the summer for sure - 28 points off 18 handicap

There was both good and bad about playing my first ever round at Maylands in December. The downsides appears to be how wet the course can be, and the noise from the M25 that follows you through your round. That said, I found that I tuned out the noise fairly quickly.

The greens were slower than a lot of courses I've played recently, although they looked very good and the ball ran very true. The fairways are fair and generally wide, with only one or two that could be described as tight. The 7th in particular is especially narrow if you have a driver in your hand.

I wouldn't describe the course as hilly, but it is very undulating.

Overall I enjoyed playing Mayland's (despite my score here). The course is very pleasant and there are some nice holes, and I wouldn't hesitate in going back for a return round.

Maylands on a sunny day

Simple parkland course in excellent condition with few sand or water challenges.
