Superb golf course, shame about the hospitality
Superb golf course in a great condition, shame about the hospitality. Played here many times in my youth and returned to play with my dad. Upon arrival we were treated in a unwelcome manner, It was possibly due to the fact we had booked a tee time "deal". We arrived approx 30 mins before our time to sign in and had a little practice etc, the tee box had been empty and so politely asked if we may tee off to an abrupt "no, you have to wait till your time, your on a deal". Went to the tee box at our tee slot and a chap jumped in front of us to tee off. A little advice if i may, if you have visitors coming to your course then consider it an opportunity to impress and who knows you may have two new members on your books. Instead, we will most likely not be coming back !Reviewer Rating

Interesting course with view of Castle
A well designed parkland course in the old grounds of the Castle which is privately owned. A flat course but a good test of Golf. the "Lake Land" hole is a challenge.(Round played: May 2019 - Score: 95 Handicap: 19.9)

Ok course.
Having played this course on previous occasions I was very disappointed with the fairways. They had obviously suffered a lot worse than some other courses due to the recent hot weather as the green grass expected was totally non existent in large parts but in fairness the greens were immaculate. Fairways affected game considerably but that is the way things go. Good clubhouse and friendly members and the carling cold drank after our round was probably the best pint of this stuff I have ever had. Will always play here as it is a great venue.(Round played: Aug 2018 - Score: 105 Handicap: 26)

Miserable pro spoiled experience
Before I started this round today I phoned the club to ask if it was busy and the pro told me no when In booked and turned up there were 5 4 balls waiting to tee off I think this is a disgrace the pros attitude on the phone was also terrible like he didn't really want to be there I won't be returning g(Round played: Sep 2017 - Score: 92 Handicap: 19.7)

Well worth a visit - Fabulous Greens
Played a social round as part of a reciprocal agreement with my Home Club, glorious weather for mid-October and what a fabulous course. Played it 35 years ago, so a lot of the course (celebrating it's 150th anniversary), so had matured even more, really nice treelined parkland course not overly long, but some well placed lakes coming into play. The greens were absolutely superb, especially for the time of year. It is clear that this course is well managed with a great greenkeeping team. The clubhouse is great with good service, very welcoming. well worth a visitReviewer Rating
