Even where there wasn't an excess of sand, you felt that the grass basically wasn't connected to the ground below it meaning that only the most crisply struck shot stood any chance of being effective.
The greens weren't in great condition on some of the later holes but overall were good and easily the fastest I have ever played on.
The layout is generally uninspiring with no memorable holes and too many short par 3s.
We paid £15 each which might seem cheap but was expensive for a course I basically felt was in unplayable condition. Basic lack of facilities - the Pro Shop / Bar / Toilets are in the hotel meaning that you need to take your spikes off to use all three which is inconvenient not to mention unhygienic.
Members came across as unfriendly bordering on arrogant (super slow 4 ball barged past us on the 1st tee despite being booked on 15 mins after us).
Least enjoyable round I have ever played, avoid at all costs.

Boggy course
Having played the course a few times, with friends, at all times of the year, I am yet to play the venue without it being boggy and in relative rough condition. I understand it's a corporate course and is used by many non golfers, yet given its so called heightened status, it really is a let down. There are much much better courses in the close vicinity to Worsley park Marriot, ones which offer a far better overall golfing experience.Reviewer Rating

Wet, Poor Bunkers, Slow Play
I have played here a couple of times before, and was looking forward to accepting the challenge Worsley Park provides, over the two rounds we were playing over two days.\Unfortunately, we\'d had a lot of rain leading up to the date. So the course was very wet. The majority of bunkers were quite rightly GUR, and puddles strewn about a lot of the course. This is of course not entirely the courses fault, but it did show that it was surprisingly bad a draining for a hotel course.\The first day we teed off with a gap between us and the group in front. Which allowed us to play in 4 hours (fourball). However, this did not stop the friendly neighbourhood steward to complain about pace of play and not keeping up to the group in front (gap between tee times). We corrected him and just as my playing partner was in the middle of his downswing, he decided to bellow out that we were correct (not much comfort to the playing partner). Apart from that, the experience allowing for the weather was fine. Greens were decent, fairways had standing water, but were mowed as close as they could considering the weather.\The second day, we had a group in front that were quite clearly not golfers. One managed 5 shots to advance the ball 40 yards on the 1st and the rest weren\'t much better. This meant our round took over 5 hours. It didn\'t dampen our spirits too much, but it became a bit of a running joke with the two groups behind us watching our tee shots, being a bit of a gallery. I think the majority of bunkers were lifted from GUR on the second day, which was a big error. i found in one that the little sand in there had washed away, and my ball was sitting on a pile of stones. Even if it hadn\'t of rained, i found the quality of the bunker a little alarming.\All in all, i\'m sure we will be back. Our previous experiences of the venue have been excellent. However, i hope if anyone from the venue is looking at this, they may take this review on board and possibly look to improve the sand in the bunkers, and vett players before they play. Everything else that was beneath our high expectations of the course, we could probably put down the weather, and give the venue the benefit of the doubt.Reviewer Rating

Fantastic course
Always love playing this course. On the day I played, the fairways were fantastic, the greens were as good as I have played on this year, very true, and in great condition. My only negative would be, off the fairways it was extremely boggy, and muddy, if therefore you did not hit fairways, you potentially lost your ball as it plugged in the mud.(Round played: Sep 2020 - Score: 96 Handicap: 18.5)
