In comparsion to other course around Essex Notley offers variety, challenge and good games of golf for excellent value for money. This why I keep going back for the challenge and to look after my wallet.
Time and money is being spent on the course by Jimmy Greaves and business associates which can totally be noticed over the years.

The course is in a valley, so lots of hills. The river Brain makes it challenging. We enjoyed our round very much coming from a country where most courses are flat ( The Netherlands).\The hospitality is heart warming. Very nice staff!

Even though it raining the whole round making the course more tricky we had fun. Fairways and green have improved massively since we played there last.

Needs TLC
Club house and surrounding looking a bit run down. We played on grass cutting day and the grass obviously had been very long so lots of big chucks of cut grass on the fairways. Greens in reasonable condition but not very fast.Given the amount of money paid it was good value

Little Gem
Great little course, needs some TLC but worth a try. £14.50 a round well worth a shot.Clubhouse terrific, staff a delight.

Presently surprised. Seen some bad reviews but I really liked it. For the price it is good and worth a round. Holes are interesting not just straight up and down holes like some other courses and reasonable price. Its not in tip top condition but for the price is good. Other courses like Benton Hall charging £50 a round is a joke. Try it for yourself.

Given the hot weather and lack of rain the fairways were green. Greens ok but spoilt by crows digging for worms

Varied and joyful course
Played over a joyous sunny afternoon interesting course with no two consecutive holes the same, doglegs, water hazards sloped greens a good test and reasonably priced for a weekend.Good facilities and a fair test of ability, thoroughly enjoyed and will return

Notleys first time
Hottest day in April for 70 years so.. this was a challenge. Very friendly round the undulating course that is Notleys. It was a real challenge for golfer and Greenkeeper alike, The course is terrific and challenging especially with so many hills to climb on a really hot day. Really enjoyed the experience the receptionist/Manager was brilliant welcomed us with cards and booklet and discount cards for future use. For improvement, greens could be much better and I beleive this is because of the nclimate weather we had to this point.(Round played: Apr 2018 - Score: 96 Handicap: 18.8)

Course is in good condition ,but areas need attention greens are slow.As i'm handy capped shortness of breath i must have a power cart.This is an area that needs a lot of attention, carts when they work often quit and not enough of them.They really need single carts as you must walk 4 holes on the back nine.The lady's in the club house are super.

Difficult course in the windy conditions today. Excellent course layout the course is in a little valley which you have to cross several times. The staff are always friendly and can't do enough for you a real bargain on weekdays would recommend to anyone.
