local course to me , great when hot and sunny avoid when wet . Has driving range putting green and a friendly bar/resturant

Unexpected treat
Played this as on holiday and staying in the village of Long Sutton so made this the obvious choice. Didn't go along with any expectations but really enjoyed it. Helpful chap in the pro-shop got me straight out despite not having booked a tee time. Couple of members also let me play through later in the round which was appreciated. Course itself was great. I played on a windy day, most of which appeared to be into, but course was fair and a good test. Bunkers were decent despite recent rain and greens rolled well though a bit slow. Standard parkland but most holes had something to keep you interested including a number of ditches on driving distance. Didn't have the chance to sample the clubhouse at all but would definitely play again if back in the area. Also, £16 on a midweek afternoon was a steal.(Round played: Jun 2017 - Score: 84 Handicap: 14)

This course has improved significantly recently after the winter flooding problems seem to have been sorted. Some really testing holes and lovely views over the Somerset levels.

I was a little disappointed with Long Sutton. The course condition was way below average for the time of year in my opinion. The greens are small with plenty of slopes, however they were the worst I had played on this year. The fairways were also pretty poor condition, I would have expected better for the end of July. The course has a few decent holes but overall is pretty average compared to others I have played in the area.
