We had a breakfast to start with and this was very good.
We walked the course and the weather was very hot.
The tees again, were a let down, too much sloping not enough flat ones.
The fairways were in very good condition but the greens were a significant let down. The main reason for this was that there seems to be many different types of grass in the greens, so the ball never ran true. The greens were big but if they don't run true, then you have wasted your round. I normally average about 1 and half rounds a hole, I think my putting on these greens probably justified half of my rounds score.
Therefore, I need to ask myself the same questions I asked about Ingon Manor:
Overall, was this course worth a price tag of £40?....No!
Did the course live up to its recommended reputation? .....No
Would I play there again?.....No
To me, it is a course that has a good standing from the time you drive in, to the time you stand on the 1st green. Unfortunately, after that, you start to feel let down. The greens and tees are the start of every round and they both need to be a lot better. The course itself, is a very pretty but with a puzzling layout. There needs to be much better signage from each hole to the next. It just looks like the course has had a change of heart with the order of the holes. You are sure the next hole is beside you but you then have to walk quite a way to.
In conclusion, If you want to play a pleasant course, this is for you. If you want to play a frustrating course that will help your handicap go higher, then this course is for you.
Sorry but this is mine and my playing partners conclusion on what should have been a much better managed course.

the course has a bit of everything - undulating and flat holes - staright and dog-legs. There is some water, but not enough to put off the higher handicappers.
The course is well-maintained, with good greens that putt fair and true.
Green fees are reasonably priced and I would recommedn this course to anyone who while in the area fancies a game of golf that will test you but not like Augusta!
I chose this as my home club over all the others in the area for 3 main reasons
1) the LACK of requirements to book a tee-time as a member.
2) The facilities clubhouse & practice
3) The ambience of the club. (The members are very friendly).
If the course were to be more tree-lined then i would give it 9.
All sceptics, please note that I'm a fussy so and so when it comes to my choice of golf club!
