Average

In pretty average nick, greens all sanded and bobbly. Course setup is ok but quite samey. £30 quid for a Saturday afternoon was just about ok value but expected a lot more.

Poor. Must do better.

Heard so many great things about this course but was sadly disappointed. Taken everything into account (weather / pandemic / time of year etc.) the course was just not very good. Fairways and greens were poor and looked to be in desperate need of water. Lots of bare patches around greens/bunkers and just generally in a poor state. I am told that the course has declined over the last few years by other members who I played with. Shame.

Not what it was....sad.

Used to he the jewel in the crown of surrey. Beautifully presented. Lush. Vibrant flowers surrounding the clubhouse. Mr Hilliard would be heartbroken if he saw it now. Oaks Park is in better condition. Fairways, green surrounds and bunker surrounds all need attention!!

Not value for money

Had a tee time booked at 10.34am. Didn't tee off. Until 10.50 due to waiting for groups in front. Greens, fairways and tee boxes were in poor condition. I'm not sure how you can warrant charging ?40 for that round of golf.

had high expectations of this course but while there were some lovely holes the greens were probably the worst i have played on. they had been hollow tined but the dressing hadn't made enough of a difference to stop the ball bouncing all over the place. one of my putts literally went at right angles!
Even at a reduced price of £40 it was still too much.

2nd visit here. First time was late June Last year and having been really impressed with the course conditioning in particular, we were looking forward to coming back. Unfortunately our expectations for late March were probably too high, and it appeared the greens had been hollow tined in the last day or two, so conditioning was no where near what we'd seen in June. Nonetheless the course had clearly suffered over the winter with lots of bare patches on both fairways and greens, due to what looked like poor drainage, on the fairways at least. Overall though we had a good day out, helped by brilliant weather and 5 or 6 holes I really like. Hopefully the course will recover soon but I'd be surprised if it does so by June this year to the level we experienced last summer.

Challenging course but greens need sorting

This is a beautiful course that is really challenging with all the water, bunkers, trees etc. Played it twice in 3 days. The pin positions are really challenging too. The only issue is the greens....really poor condition. Full of holes & poorly cut fringes. If these were fixed this would be an excellent course. The price was good though.

Wow wot a difference, we’ve played here every year for the last 4 years with my friends a place to meet up once a year a treat as we don’t see each other often, and sadly this will be the last I think here , I’ve seen a steady decline in the standard of the course, it was scruffy tired unkempt in areas , the course always plays well with good solid greens and we love the sand in bunkers there’s on going work I see on pathways which is a good idea .. but unfortunately as I learnt the last time we played changing in staffing areas has obviously taking its toll on the presentation of the course, and pricey green fees didn’t mirror the standard we were expecting from previous visits from to course Sadly.. COVID precautions are being used well and felt well advised about what was on offer at the clubhouse.

Not bad winter course, a tad on the expensive side ! I’ve played a few times before mostly in the summer when it’s been much better , greens ok a bit on the soft side great new sand playable even when flat and hard , I understand from the some of the members the old head Greenkeeper has left recently and I hope this doesn’t affect the course over all not to bad worth a round

A good course, very well kept and in good condition considering rain and the early signs of winter. As usual leaves everywhere we're a nightmare hiding balls, perhaps for this quality of course I might expect the fairways to be cleared . Greens were excellent, true and quick with plenty of movement to look for.
