Good course but not at it's best
First time playing Keswick, had booked on-line before hand which was easy enough. No pro shop and clubhouse very quiet when we turned up to play, nice chap in the car park directed us in right direction for first tee. Course had been closed a few days beforehand due to heavy rainfall so expected it to be wet in places which it was. Course very quiet which was nice. Quite a hilly course but not over taxing. Some nice looking holes and great scenery all around. Greens a little woolly but passable given time of year and saturated conditions. Would certainly like to play it again in drier conditions.(Round played: Nov 2021 - Score: 80 Handicap: 6.3)

The course is reasonable short in length but still offers some testing holes, particularly the Par 3s which are all very long (the 2nd a stormer at over 240 Yards through a narrow tree lined driving position). The fourth offers the opportunity for the moutain climbers among you to don your crampons - locally known as 'Cardiac' for a very good reason. Playing your 3rd (and quite often 4th!) shot after climbing one hell of a hill requires an ability to calm your heart rate quickly just so that you can catch your breath before hitting your next shot.
Having played this course several times over the years I can say it is well worth the 3.5 hour round trip from my home to get a day's golf in. Great value for money, with a cracking clubhouse, friendly staff and a mean soup and sarnie lunch. Recent work to the course has introduced a lot of well placed walkways and paths that now allow for the use of buggies on the course which previously would have struggled in what can be a fairly wet climate.
One thing to note - you won't need your sand iron here as there are no bunkers!

Greens in good condition
Exceptional views and a good price but seem to quite a lot of damage on the fairways.
