Lovely parkland setting
Lovely course set within a fantastic parkland landscape. Enough trees to keep you on your toes but not too many that you've gone from golfer to woodchopper by the end! To be fair the fairways are fairly generous and the trees simply line the fairways to present a well laid out and designed golf course. You can see that this is course well loved by the members and also being invested in. When we visited at the beginning of Oct, following heavy rain fall, the tees boxes were well maintainted, fairways in fantastic condition, varied immaculate greens and very little issues from the recent deluge.
This is a course well worth playing and a course that will offer varierty and challenges to golfers of all abilities. The trees offer thinking off the tee and you will see an array of bunkers throughout that present their own challenges. The greens were very fast and true when we played and a decent size helping with those approaches - the 14th green was rather interesting with a more sideways kidney shap green making approach shots extremely difficult and going short is the choice.
All in all this was a thoroughly enjoyable course to play and well worth a visit for all levels of golfers. The hospitality was great and attending as part of a charity golf day I can also say the food was first class. Top course, must play.

Very nice, a bit expensive
Played here in a charity golf day and the course was in lovely condition. The clubhouse is smart and overall the whole package very nice, if a little ‘stuffy’ (no shorts in the bar etc). There are several fantastic views and many interesting holes. We paid a reduced green fee for the charity event. Had we been asked to pay the full green fee of £75 then we all felt that this would have been a touch high, felt more like a £50 course to us.(Round played: May 2018 - Score: 95 Handicap: 18.5)

Beautiful setting
Lovely course in a beautiful setting. Always in great condition and a joy to pay. Members are welcoming, pace of play excellent, fairways well maintained and greens always top class - nothing less than you would expect from an Open qualifying venue. The course itself is fun to play with a nice mix of holes, nothing too challenging but designed to keep you on your toes and provide a level of risk and reward.
Highly recommended and a definite must play if you have the chance to play.

It's Ok
One of the better courses in Derbyshire but that's not saying much, recent work on the bunkers has improved the look of the place however I still dont feel its worth the green fee sorry and also not sure how it has managed Open Qualifying maybe something to do with the length of the course, but some far better courses around that should be hosting qualifying.Reviewer Rating

The Course
This is members course with a parkland layout, the greens had just been dressed but were accurate and responsive, the fairways were tight in places and not automatic driver off the tee, some stunning holes. It had rained heavily the night before but you could not tell. I did not play my best golf but still enjoyed the course.
The Clubhouse
One of our party had come in shorts and he was told abruptly and loudly that he could not go in the clubhouse, which set the tone for the day.
If were jusr playing the course I would reccomend, its the clubhouse that lets it down.

Every hole has a different layout and feel to it and its in perfect condition. Lush green fairways, well manicured tee boxes.
Being a parkland course could be fairly tight for some but its fairly forgiving. Not the longest ever so big hitter will really enjoy it.
I have marked the clubhouse as 'good' as I wasn't allowed in wearing shorts.
