Amazing course, pristine

Amazing course, not played one in better condition this year. Quick greens took a bit of getting used to (for me anyway) and the local knowledge of playing partners helped a lot. Birdie on 10 surprised them and me, but 5 pars too also felt good. Ignore the 7’s and 8’s only to be expected by an infrequent player.

Beautiful setting

Lovely course in a beautiful setting. Always in great condition and a joy to pay. Members are welcoming, pace of play excellent, fairways well maintained and greens always top class - nothing less than you would expect from an Open qualifying venue.

The course itself is fun to play with a nice mix of holes, nothing too challenging but designed to keep you on your toes and provide a level of risk and reward.

Highly recommended and a definite must play if you have the chance to play.

Lovely parkland setting

Lovely course set within a fantastic parkland landscape. Enough trees to keep you on your toes but not too many that you've gone from golfer to woodchopper by the end! To be fair the fairways are fairly generous and the trees simply line the fairways to present a well laid out and designed golf course.

You can see that this is course well loved by the members and also being invested in. When we visited at the beginning of Oct, following heavy rain fall, the tees boxes were well maintainted, fairways in fantastic condition, varied immaculate greens and very little issues from the recent deluge.

This is a course well worth playing and a course that will offer varierty and challenges to golfers of all abilities. The trees offer thinking off the tee and you will see an array of bunkers throughout that present their own challenges. The greens were very fast and true when we played and a decent size helping with those approaches - the 14th green was rather interesting with a more sideways kidney shap green making approach shots extremely difficult and going short is the choice.

All in all this was a thoroughly enjoyable course to play and well worth a visit for all levels of golfers. The hospitality was great and attending as part of a charity golf day I can also say the food was first class. Top course, must play.

Open qualifying venue, set on the edge of a picturesque stately home.Fabulously designed parkland facility. Err from the straight and narrow at your peril or become very good at awkward recovery shots under branches. Greens excellent and true.Hard and fast running as we have had little rain recently to soften the fairways.Great fun to play. Clubhouse closed due to virus

no 1 course in Derbyshire

Kedleston Park is a beautiful, mature parkland course set in peaceful countryside within the grounds of magnificent Kedleston Hall, a grand 18 th century stately home just a few miles northwest of Derby city centre. It has long been regarded as one of the finest courses in Derbyshire and the East Midlands, and earlier this year, elevated Kedleston Park to No.1 in Derbyshire following a survey among the county’s 31 affiliated golf clubs.

superb setting and true greens

played the first two holes whilst still raining, there had been a lot of overnight rain. however the course played really well, the drainage must be superb.

A fair test of mediocre ability, but not too scary. i would imagine it would be difficult to take a very low score due to the positioning of bunkers, traps, ditches and pin positions on testing greens!

Golfshake Team ReviewThis is a fantastic golf course.Recent improvements have fully bedded in and the new bunkers can hardly be discerned from the old.The practice facilities are second to none with the short game area a real pleasure to use.It becomes an Open qualifying venue from 2018 and fully deserves the accolades for its current condition. This is not a cheap golf course but I still fully recommend it is likely to become even busier next year. If you fancy a real golfing treat you will not be disappointed by this venue.Clubhouse and food in particular are superb. Please ensure you take account of local rules regarding dress etc to avoid embarrassment. All are sensible and appropriate. This was a real treat!!! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

What a fantastic course. The backdrop of Kedleston Hall from the 16th tee makes it the best golfing view in Derbyshire. Bring your long game, you will need it as the course is quite long but there are some excellent short holes such as the wonderful Par 3 7th across the lake. The resident pro Ian and his team (Phil and Andy) couldn't be more helpful. Phil does sterling work with Junior coaching, if you have a budding Tiger Woods get them down for the group coaching sessions.

What a superb course... Reminiscent of Forest of Arden in some ways. Beautiful back drop of the National trusts Kedleston Hall on 5 of the holes just add to the already lovely scenery, add to this some proper par 4's (400+ yrds), tough par 3's (1 over a lake), a couple of the par 5's over 500 yrds, nice tree lined fairways and it gives you a great course to play.
Sadly no 2-4-1's as its a proper members club.
