Disgrace!!!

Subject: Congratulations on Hosting the Snobbiest Golf Club on Earth!

Dear The Wegmore Elite,

I just wanted to extend my heartfelt gratitude for providing me with the unparalleled pleasure of experiencing the most exquisite snobbery known to mankind during my recent visit to your esteemed golf course.

From the moment I stepped onto the perfectly manicured fairways, I was greeted with disdainful glances and condescending remarks from your illustrious members. It was truly a humbling experience to witness such dedication to the art of snobbery.

I must commend your members for their unwavering commitment to maintaining an atmosphere of exclusivity. The way they effortlessly ignored anyone who didn't meet their stringent standards of attire or social status was truly awe-inspiring.

And let's not forget the delightful exchange I had with a particularly charming member who felt the need to remind me, in not-so-subtle terms, that my mere presence was tarnishing the sanctity of their beloved golf course. How could I ever forget such a touching moment?

In conclusion, I would like to express my deepest appreciation for providing me with a glimpse into the world of high society and elitism. It was an experience I will cherish forever, or at least until I find a golf course that doesn't require me to take out a second mortgage to afford a round of golf.

Yours sincerely,

YEK UBYGG

Living in Warwickshire with its wealth of outstanding and cheap courses, I am always shocked by the premium you pay to play golf in the South West! The Isle of Wedmore is no different. An ok course which is reasonably well kept but the only memorable hole is a par 3 (11th I think) which has a spectacular view but that's it and you pay £22.50 as a members guest on a weekday!!! Staff in pro shop and clubhouse were friendly and a nice atmosphere but I spent the whole round thinking of all the better courses I could be playing for half the price. My advice, head down the road to Wells GC (more interesting course without the anti-visitor pricing).

nice club, good course

course in good condition following the COVID shutdown. greens running true.
the course is a good challenge to the club golfer, I particularly like the challenge of the 3x par 5's in a row (holes 13, 14, 15). recommended

Worth A Game

Played here March , 2020.

We were looking for somewhere to play not too far off the M5 on the way back from Torquay & found this which was down a remote country lane.
Upon arrival & the first few holes it seemed a bit uninspiring but then things picked up & overall we enjoyed it.
The front 9 is more compact , fairly straightforward , shorter & quite playable with some enjoyable shortish par 4's & three par 3's.
The back 9 is more of a walk & almost 600 yards longer with , unusually ,three consecutive par fives .It also has a few holes with spectacular views which comes out of the blue & unexpectedly after the front 9 terrain.
Although the back 9 has the views i probably enjoyed the front 9 holes more .

There isn't much in the way of fairway bunkering & the greenside bunkers have been well positioned .

The course seems to drain quite well as all greens were in use when other places i had phoned weren't.

I didn't find the pro shop particularly enthusiastic or welcoming on either phone or arrival .

Overall i thought this was a reasonably decent course that was a good finish to our mini golf trip.

Nice course, a good test for the higher handicapper

The club is very friendly and the course is set up to be challenging whilst rewarding players who have a good round. Would definitely play again.

Worth the visit

Front nine probably slighty more enjoyable than the back, 3 long par 5's together on 12-14 see to that especially mid november ... !! But course was in good condition , fairways and Tees well looked after , greens all run true and very consistent on speed

Hot day

Teed off at 12.30 caught up with a 4 ball by the 3rd hole and they kindly offered for me to go through which was nice of them. Course in good condition greens running quick only thing I have to complain about is that there?s no Drinking fountains anywhere more which would been nice for the hot weather

Really liked this course. It's quite tight, but no overly long so offered a good balance of risk and reward. Greens were in great condition (May 2023), really liked the putting, chipping and driving nets next to the first tee. Overall enjoyed the round a lot
