Agree with Glasgow. This used to be one of the best golf courses in West of Scotland. Surely club management could have the Greenkeeper tidy what is real eyesore.

The greens were in poor condition, however, remainder of course is very good condition. They have suffered badly due to the prolonged winter frost / snow. Course is difficult for high handicap players bout a good honest challenge. Catering staff polite and very helpful.

The most emotional round...
This round of golf took me through all the emotions imaginable. After the 1st 2 holes we were feeling good, regular links golf. 4 holes later our group sat on the tee box, debating weather to walk in and go tot he bar and 1 of our group was debating giving up golf. The 3rd to the 7th are some of the most brutal holes in golf in the wind. Really tight, lots of rough and gorse, OBs and the odd 50 ft hill in the way (and 3 of those holes are less than 310 yard par 4's). After that it went back to a very pleasant and interesting links golf course which I enjoyed. We then spent about an hour in the bar debating if it was a brilliant golf course or not(Round played: Jun 2018 - Score: 95 Handicap: )

Played this course several times. Very untidy approach Head Greenkeeper keeps a tip of a garden. Do not understand why such wonderful course and clubhouse permits this mess as it is the fist impression of the Irvine Golf Club.

This was a great course and in great condition when I played it. They were playing winter rules and had some temporary greens on some holes. It was a really fun course to play and had some really great holes.

Hidden Gem
