Suffolk's Finest
Love Purdis - the best in Suffolk, IMO.Not crazy long, but some holes will feel that way, par 5's that are reachable and some challenging par 3's too.
The course is always in great condition, some with very punishing gorse, heather and bunkers. Greens always run true as well.

Superbly kept heathland course with some mouth-watering undulations.
The greens are always in fantastic condition and a joy to putt on.
The layout is great as well. Nothing ever feels the same and even though there are some shorter holes (1st and 9th for example) it still doesn't make them easy.
Its not the most forgiving off the tee as you would expect with most heathland courses, but every hole feel like its picture perfect, if you get the chance to play here don't think twice.

Great test of golf
One of the top courses to play in Suffolk. Played Ipswich a few times (play off 9), being on sand it plays well all year round, if anything the summer months the fairways can be too dry. The tees and greens are kept in immaculate condition, greens are consistent and no a bad hole on the course just great variation. Staff are welcoming and helpful, members are friendly and it great to see an increasing number of ladies and juniors. Cannot praise the course more highly - definitely gets a Michelin ?? or two.Reviewer Rating

Best in Suffolk
Personally feel Purdis is the best course in Suffolk. The layout is fantastic, the removal of tree has been a good decision to open it up and some of the views over other holes are great.
The condition is spot on and the new bunkers have really bedding in. It might not be the easiest course around but overlook the score and take the course for what it is, a stunning layout in pristine condition.

Gets better each time
Having recently carried out some work on the bunkers (new and old) this course gets better each time. Now a lot of trees have been removed it was a bit of a shock at first but as the round goes on you feel it makes such a positive impact on the course.
The course is tough, offline and you'll be in trouble. But the condition and layout is the best in Suffolk. Greens were running perfectly.

a really great heathland course
Played in the rain from start to finish but still a very enjoyable game. Fairways were still recovering from the dry spell in June/July but greens were in great condition.(Round played: Aug 2018 - Score: 76 Handicap: 9.3)

Purdis is a great course to play during winter as it drains and holds water very well. Greens always true and some very challenging holes.

Course, as always, in excellent condition. Lush fairways, perfect greens. Manicured bunkers all add to the experience of a true classic heathland course. Can be tight in places so higher handicap players expect to lose a couple of balls if your not straight!

Course is in fantastic condition considering the recent weather. Hold the water really well fairways are tip top. A couple of greens can hold water but to be expected but in general run really well even when sodden. Can only imagine how good they will be come the spring/summer.
A fair amount of heather and gorse round here so try your best to stay out if it.
Cant wait to head back!
