Played during heatwave for first time in 20years. Course was bone dry which made it interesting with bounces and runs on ball but was still in good condition and greens were great. Will never go back though due to the terrible treatment received in the clubhouse. We were all looked up and down by the members and then challenged over minor clothing issues. I had black ankle socks on and received a lecture from a plums in mouth member over the need for white socks (does not say this on the website), he said I should not have been allowed on the course! My father and brother got a sarcastic clap for having acceptable gear on. The atmosphere was unwelcoming and it is clear that these members do not want outsiders in their club. The sooner these sad old fools die off from the game the better, no wonder kids are not interested in golf with these people making the rules. Huyton management wake up and move with the times as when the codgers die out there will be no one left at your club.

Played early March 2019 & late March 2019Plenty of upkeep work going on.
Temporary green in place on 1 hole.
Greens we're not very good.
Had to take ball off the fairway onto first cut (local rule) to protect fairways.
For that reason ? won't be playing winter golf at Huyton & Prescot again ?

Tough course, some hard blind dog-leg holes, and all the par 3's are not easy! Greens always very good, and pretty fast (and hard to read!) All members very friendly, well most (you always get one or two moaners at golf clubs!!!!) Course drains pretty well when wet, one or two fairways can get little boggy, but no more than usual. Overall, very good course (Handicap: 19.6)

Course - superb. Greens are un-real and frighteningly quick.
Members - We had such a poor experience due to two groups of inconsiderate and rude members who did not understand the etiquette of golf. Hitting up to green whilst we were putting. Accusations of slow play despite a 1 hr 50 minute front 9. Threats to report the members we were with for slow play.
Such disregard for visitors and it blighted what was a great golf day. We were made to feel so unwelcome and as though members take priority despite the fact that we were not playing slowly and were all single handicap golfers.
Needless to say I reported them to their pro and club secretary after our game.
Hopefully these are a minority because the course itself is outstanding.

Gem of a course.
Greens are very nice and very quick.Par3’s are all tough cars wreckers especially 5th.
Tee boxes could do with some work.

Not the best

Played in charity day. Good course but not worth std green fee in my opinion. Hard to score well on. Decent greens on the whole.

Stunning greens
Very challenging course don’t underestimate it!Rapid greens, if your slightly off the tee your in trouble mainly behind trees.
Every par3 is a card wrecker.

The hidden gem of the north west
Stunning course, made to feel very welcome by everyone we spoke to, great pro shop and club house, food and service was excellent, really tight course were your punished for poor shots, greens are the best I’ve seen and played on in a very long timeReviewer Rating

Great course
Great test of golf if your slightly off your punching out and your score racks up , even though 5 par 3’s there isn’t an easy one everyone requires a good shot .(Round played: Aug 2021 - Score: 98 Handicap: 18.1)

Tight and tricky
Any slightly off line shots around this tight track get pushed and your punching out your second shot .True and quick greens hard to read .
Every par 3 could be a card wrecker .
