Take your wellies, the course is soaking, the greens are in good condition but the tee's are like hitting out of the rough- mow them!! Most tees are playing off the whites, if that's the competition tees then good luck!!

Typical council course
This is run by the council, the greens were inconsistent speeds, spongy and lumpy. The fairways were fairly well maintained, the 1st rough good, 2nd cut brutal. There are no yardage markers or yardage books available so if you don't know where the greens are located it can be a challenge. Mondays there is no food available. The pro is rarely there as he is also pro at another course.Reviewer Rating

It’s ok but bunkers need a lot of work they are very hard and rocky along with the green they have a lot of tire marks in them

For a council run facility this is not a bad venue for those learning the game or going for a casual round, there are some really good holes on the course. Unfortunately the greens were in a very poor condition, very bumpy and random paced.

Disappointed with this course. There are no 150 yard markers on any of the 18 holes and no boards on the tees giving you the layout of the holes which means on several, you did not even know where you were hitting your drive in relation to the tee. Also, after leaving the 13th tee, we proceeded to play the 16th hole in error. A simple sign saying "To 14th Tee" would not go amiss! On the plus side, the greens were excellent. The 18th was an absolute brute!

greens full of pitch marks, not much sand in bunkers, (some had none in them ) the rough is very rough , will not play there again , golfers taking to long looking for golf balls in the jungle ( rough) either side of fairways so making play very slow

Simple but Effective
Most challenging aspect is the long meadow grass defining each hole. Very easy to lose a number of balls even if you note the entry point. Bunkers are very shallow. Having said that there are some interesting and challenging holes and this course is excellent value for money.Reviewer Rating

qute a new course and council owned so the dress code isn't to strict and anyone can play, not a real difficult course but there are some good holes to test your shots, in bad weather the Telford nine holds lots of water in places and the Wrekin nine runs paralel with the waste tip so can get quite wiffy at times but they seem to be running it down so hopefully it wont be much of a problem much longer, worth a knock.
