Wonderful
Played the course this afternoon in really heavy rain, despite changing my glove on 3 occasions it was a thoroughly enjoyable round, The course was stunning and presented a different challenge on each hole. The greens were undulating which added character to wonderful course. Definitely worth playing and can’t wait to return on a dry day.Reviewer Rating

My wife and I played the course twice while on holiday in Winchester in early July 2013. It's a very challenging lay-out with fast undulating greens and maintained at a very high standard. It has exceptional variety with tight tee shots on some holes, wide open fairways on others, a double green on #6 and #13, and extremely punishing rough if one hits it way off line. (A number of very good quality golf balls were found while searching-often unsuccessfully- for mine!) We had a letter of introduction from our club in Sydney and were warmly received by the professional staff, the GM and various members whom we met over lunch over after golf drinks. We look forward to a return in the near future.

Where do I start... first impressions when I pulled into the gate was 'wow' first tee looks stunning! I had heard good things about this course but I didn't want to get my hopes up. The course was an absolute delight to play, every hole was picturesque, amazing views, course was in fantastic condition with nice fast greens. The 18th was something special, in fact a few holes were quite breath taking. I found the pro shop and administration department I spoke to prior to my visit very friendly and welcoming. Also the other golfers playing seemed very friendly, lots of etiquette and also of a very good standard, probably the best general standard of golfers I've seen on one course. On the whole this course is a hidden gem and in my opinion one of the best in Hampshire let alone Winchester.

great course one of the best in the area - exposed - very exposed 40 mph winds and sideways rain made the game a real challenge!

Great course
Wonderful experience. Stopped off on our way to the south coast on holiday, immediately made to feel welcome, busy on that day but only waited 30 mins, still only took 4 hours to get around. Every hole interesting and a pleasure and greens in good condition and with big slopes. Oh and some great views. A fair and excellent test of golf and well worth the green fee.Reviewer Rating

All round playability is an understatement! Im a member of a local club which was unfortunately closed but I heard Hockley GC was open and thought why not. Glad I did, very professional Pro Shop, helpful barstaff and what a course. I even saw golf buggies out and about! Course was a delight with only a few puddles in the bunkers considering most courses are closed. Greens were true and responded well. I will be back in the summer too now.

Got recommended to play here from a friend of mine after my course had restricted play after severe weather. What a joy to play! Great golf course and very firm! No restrictions on buggies or trolleys even after the recent weather we have experienced. Would recommend to anyone. Really is "All year Golf"

In November 2012 Glenn Kirby was head hunted from the London Club in Kent to be Course Manager. Guy Hockley, Nick Faldo’s Course Architect, was also retained to work with Glenn to deliver “one of the very best downland courses in the south of England.

Invited to play here with a member friend of mine, had never heard of the course till the invite. How was this place ever a secret in Hampshire, loved it!
