Very well kept course. Course planner bore no resemblance to the course so each hole seemed blind. If ball was off course, usually was inpossible to find. Very hard golf course - I'm 17 handicap and I scored worse here than Walton Heath.

Lovely course, worth a visit

Really enjoyed Hindhead GC. Nice mature course, front 9 and back 9 quite different. Will play again.

Wow

If you have the time and money you should think about vivisting this place for a day, beautiful course in tranquil settings. Two very different nines in terms of topography, some great looking holes but very demanding nevertheless.

One of the best courses I've ever played, greens are excellent. Lots of heather which looks pretty but don't go in it!

Took Friday off because I had the opportunity of playing Hindhead. Freezing cold day with a to ouch of snow but I still enjoyed the day, what a great course want to go back in the summer when the heather will be in flower. Very tough course no water but lots of challenges and hazards to keep you thinking the greens were very tough to read and really quick because they were so hard.

Hindhead like so many courses around it are on perfect golfing land and therefore I don't think it could possibly yield a poor golf course.
The clubhouse is a very traditional building with goolf changing room facilities and a nice bar looking out towards the putting green and 18th hole.
The shop even though fairly small in size is nicely stocked with some good quality equipment and clothing, the pro was nice and had a good chat.
Green fee was £45 on county card in mid July which was great for us!
Many have said that they think the front nine is the better nine with it being carved through the valley, don't get me wrong its very pleasant to the eye, and has great elevation changes, poor golf shots on some of the holes may be rewarded due to the edges of the holes sloping back into the fairways. On various holes where balls gather on the fairway there were divots everywhere, Some verging on excavations. Having said that the trees and surroundings are very well maintained, with the greens being of good quality (Not quite as good as neighbouring Liphook).
I love the "proper" bunkering which had heather growing on the lips. The 7th, 8th, 9th holes are for me clearly the difference between a good and very bad scorecard as they play uphill and into the wind when we played so play much longer than the other holes.
With the rough and heather surrounding the holes, you need to be hitting the fairway off the tee to give yourself the chance of scoring. There is a very good half way hut with seating for those that need a break after walking up to the 10th from the 9th green.

The back nine contrary to some reviews are great, a heathland type layout with lots of visible heather from the tee, its very enjoyable.

There are a couple of deceptive views into the greens such as the 12th which jumps straight into my mind with a false front, you think you have hit a perfect approach right at the pin but get there and its on the front of the green with a 40ft putt! You have to love playing a good course for the first time and being beaten up.

All in all you will not be disappointed with playing this course, with all the others in close proximity its well worth adding as part of a golf trip.

Beautiful course in beautiful condition. Really struggled on the greens with a massive 25 putts on the front 9, 17 back 9. Members guest so green fees very fair. Not cheap if paying full price (£75) but still fantastic venue. halfway house good too. No complaints at all.
