Some long par 5s mixed with some tricky par 4s make the course quite challenging, however encouraging you to test yourself. Hole 17 has a valley, which requires a long drive to clear the top of the hill. Areas of the course were quite boggy after the heavy rain and slowed the ball down quite considerably. Greens were quite good considering the heavy downfall.

Decent course for the price and some tough holes , putting can be difficult due to lack of maintenance. But for a municipal course in very good condition.88 handicap 17

Fairway lush..cuttings left on course.
Bunkers in poor condition
Greens in good condition although need cutting
Overall value for money . tee off at 4 o'clock ,no holdup all the way round.

Beautiful course, great value for money. Fairways are wide and forgiving but if you miss them you are in trouble. Rewards the straight hitters :0)

Nice open course, greens were a little tatty on a couple of holes but at £6 what can you ask for, shop was ok cafe was cool and 4hrs on a bank holiday cant be sniffed at, enjoyed today !

played here through tee off times and it only cost us £6 each, course is in good condition although the greens had been spiked and will be all the better for it.will be coming back to play soon as a low score is quite attainable.

Hilltop is a municipal in the west brom area, playing a decent yardage and offering a stern test if you miss the fairways (the rough is thick and tough) but the ability to shoot very low scores exists if you hit the ball straight, very little hazard in play if you do so (no water, sparsely bunkered fairways, decently protected greens).

Hilltop West Bromwich Closing down
Whilst playing a round today, I met some members who advised that the course is closing on 1st November by MyTime Active. Apparently they had applied for Planning Permission for a 9 hole course, footgolf and other things, which is now not moving forward. The course was being cut during the round, but found it to be a little long even still. Greens not bad, but areas of rough were too rough. Shame it will be left to be overgrown soon and another course gone.(Round played: Oct 2019 - Score: 94 Handicap: 24.9)

Nice, testing course
Wide fairways so great for beginners like me. Leaf free! Ground damp so ball plugged quite a bit. Putting on greens quite good considering recent rainfall, however, shots onto green died.Could do with direction signs between tees and sometimes difficult to distinguish fairways from rough.
Saying that, I will continue to play here to improve my game!

Tough in parts, but worth a visit
Hard going in places but some good views and fair value. Catering absent at present, so bring your own. Back 9 easier than first 9. Always worth a visit.(Round played: Nov 2018 - Score: 103 Handicap: 26.9)

STILL A GREAT COURSE VALUE FOR MONEY IN EXCELLENT CONDITION.
Greens need to improve with better grass coverage but will wait till next year for them to take effect

Hilltop is a municipal course which is in very good condition considering the hot weather, not a difficult course but that's only if your playing well. Staff are very friendly and will definately play again. Excellent value when playing on teeofftimes but a little expensive if not.
