Course is looking good. the greens are pretty true but a few are not at their best. Always a good course to play, but best when not too windy

I have played courses that the greens abysmal, I have played courses that the tee boxes are abysmal, I have played courses that the bunkers are abysmal but High throston has the honour of having all three. As my mate said Yul Bruner has more grass on his head the greens or the tee boxes. There are weeds growing in the bunkers that are six inches high, they have not been raked in years\Not months.Worm casts have been there that long they are solid . On complaining we were told that due to illnesses and injuries things had not been done, I asked why were players still paying top prices. If you intend playing this course. DONT YOU WILL HAVE MORE FUN PLAYING CRAZY GOLF

Quite an open course with few trees\\It was very windy when I played but there was a weather warning for wind so it may not have been the best day for it!\\£17 for 18 holes. A couple of the greens were covered in leaves but that was probably down to the wind.\\Big hill from the 10th green to the 11th tee\\Quite a hill to the 16th tee too\\Nicely set out course but no clubhouse as such

good course

played saturday 21st April. played as a single. Greens are quite slow and not much movement, only one hole i couldnt putt straight too. left a few short due to the slowness of the greens. The rough makes the course look easy as there isnt many trees or bushes to hit. Except the rough swallows balls. Miss the green by 2 inches, spend your full 5 minutes looking for it. If it hasnt sat on top of a bit of rough its swallowed by rough that must be around 3-5 inches deep and very thick. course layout is pretty good and the top of the hill can get a bit windy, but not when i played. Pace of play i didnt have a problem. I didnt meet the two ball in front of me and the two ball on buggies behind me never caught up to me.
need to pay by cash as no card payment device. no clubhouse to talk of, small seating area and snacks and tea coffee available.
£10 for 9 holes £16 for 18 holes £20 on weekends.
visitors are advised to get the map and the scorecard at the desk, I had to help two visitors on the 17th fairway looking for the 13th.

Good Course

Course drains pretty well, which makes it an ideal winter choice, and was in pretty good condition. Some people seemed to have been unable to repair pitch marks and replace divots, but that's no fault of the course. Always good value and some spectacular views.

Neglected by owners and players

Played this course often in the past when I first started golf and thought it was great. Now I’ve played many more courses I realise how poor it is. Having played today I felt the need to leave a review. Pace of play was poor as for some reason they allowed a 5 ball on the course a few groups ahead of us. The tee boxes are not cut, it’s like teeing off from the grass in your local park. The bunkers are neglected and look like they haven’t been raked in weeks, by either other players or the greenskeepers, with some having bricks and dirt in them which look like GUR but haven’t been marked as GUR. Greens were slow with very long grass with far too many pitch marks left and not repaired. No many slopes in the green, just plenty of bobbles, not running true. The rough was far too long, which I don’t think was intentional to make the course more difficult, simply laziness. Some parts of the rough which was cut still had the cuttings laying on the top of the grass. I think players don’t respect the course because they know the owners clearly don’t look after it. Not worth the green fee compared to other courses in the area slightly more expensive but much better conditions. The course does have some good holes, which if the conditions were improved would be great, but are let down by the poor conditions.

Enjoyable for high handicaps

In decent condition considering recent weather. The Hill before the 11th will put off some less mobile golfers. The smaller hill before the 16th is wayyy to steep. That needs addressing. Borderline dangerous to go up in spikes.
