good course, shocking greens
played many times but won't be going again this year - the winter treatment has killed most of the greens, they are mostly overseeded & brown. ruins the round - and at £40 it's not good enough.Reviewer Rating

Playing off winter tees that were positioned a good distance forward making it not the most challenging of rounds.Fairways sodden and cutting up, holding a fair bit of water but greens generally in good condition. Nice to see they are carrrying out some course improvements.

Hard Work
Haydock Park is a challenging parkland course with narrow fairways treelined and well bunkered. The greens are small and well protected. They have had a lot of trouble with the green and are in a recovery phase.Reviewer Rating

Good course but not at it's best
Friendly welcome in club house for this Seniors open. Great breakfast. Good practice facilities. Haydock Park is usually a good test of golf, tight treelined fairways, one or two doglegs, small greens, plenty of holes that can upset a good score, but usually a joy to play, quite compact in places so on a busy competition day a bit of waiting is normal. Unfortunately the greens are not up to their usually high standards at the moment, very patchy in places making putting difficult on some. We were told that the greens staff are working hard on sorting them out and I hope they get them back to their normally high standards. Hopefully we will return again next season and see the course back it's very best.Reviewer Rating

Slightly disappointed
Had never played here before but was looking forward to it on 17th Oct, but was disappointed to find that artificial tees already being used and was still charged over £30 for the round! No knowledge of that until we arrived. Use of these tees made some holes lack the quality they should have had. Greens and course in general \in good condition and course was a good challenge. We were unlucky to have a slow moving 4 ball in front of us on the front 9 but once cleared on the 10th hole it was fine. All in all was a decent game but not worth the money as a visitor, won't be rushing back to play.Reviewer Rating

Tight course some tees close to greens and some tees cross one another. This can cause delays when busy.

Played an open comp and must say the course was looking great and the greens where rolling beautifully. A mix of short par 4's with bunker filled fairways along with some longer challenging ones. Par 3's were a good mix of length and some reachable par 5's. In all, something for everyone.

Haydock
Had the pleasure of playing haydock recently with a work mate who's a member .lovely course in great condition. It helped playing with a member as he could advise on tee shot placement etc .this helped massively as you need to be accurate instead of long off the tee.Reviewer Rating

What a surprise!
Played for the first time yesterday and what a surprise. Have passed the course many times on the M6 and was put off by it’s closeness to the motorway. Should have played here long ago, great setting and facilities, warm welcome and a beautiful, challenging park layout, with superb greens and well cut fairways. What’s more, we didn’t even hear any traffic.The only thing I’d ask for as a visitor, is a sign to direct us to the 12th tee from the 11th green, through the woods. Easily accessible from Manchester
Tight course that makes you think about your shots. Greens had plenty of ridges and slopes to work with for approach shots. Very enjoyable course.(Round played: May 2021 - Score: 76 Handicap: 5.5)

Lovely flat course
First time at Haydock Park and for the time of year the course was fairly dry. The fairways are really good and the fairways and greens are well protected by some tough bunkers. The greens are very good and consistent. Will play here again.Reviewer Rating

Good conditiom
Played on the 1st of September in he NHS games. Course was in great condition despite the overnight rain. Greens held the ball really well. Tees and fairways were in good shape. Course management a must on this course. No idea how the bunkers are, wasn't in any of them ????. Green staff are doing a great job, well done. Friendly pro shop and bar staff. Superb course

Lovely course

Nice course

Forget the Races
People thnink of a day at the races when you think of Haydock. This course is often overlooked when chosing to play in the North West. Think again, give it a go. Its easy walking, some congestion on busier days around hole 2, but after that you're off and running!(Round played: Jul 2017 - Score: 97 Handicap: 21.7)

This was my first 18 holes for just over 15 years. So having had 6 or 7 visits to a driving range in the 3 weeks coming up to this, I was quite chuffed with the 95 which contained 3 x 7s!!
The course looked well looked after. It is a parkland course and yes there are lots of tree lined fairways. After a long dry spell the greens were a little gritty but consistent. Maybe a little steep at £30 but I would recommend it especially for societies who may get slightly better deals.
