mud-fest
played both courses over the last 2 days. both good layouts and lovely scenery but the courses have clearly been over used, with little maintenance, and the mud was on another level, particularly on the championship. no range balls available (machine empty), no nets, very few ball washers, or green to tee signage; all needed. hotel investment is great-nice rooms, good food and welcoming staff. hopefully course and greens investment will follow.Reviewer Rating

The golf course is really lovely, with great condition and a great layout. It's easy to book a tee time and the trip is definitely worth it. The course is challenging but fair, and the scenery is really nice.

Interesting course
This seems a mix of courses, a very up and down front 9 but much more challenging back 9. The course was rather wet and was already getting churned up by the buggiesReviewer Rating

Best In shropshire
Having been a member at three other courses over the past 20+years I have finally found a course that has it all. I can't make judgement on the hotel or club house as not spent much time in there. However both the courses have been in top condition since April. Made me laugh when someone gave the course low marks for bunkers being poor, another visitor because of the heavy rain beleave me in comparison to most of the courses in shropshire there good. Three things have impressed me with this course tees, greens, and fellow members. Being my first year as a member I decided not to enter into the competitions giving me the chance to get use to the course I have been asked on so many occasions when I have just popped up for a few holes on my own if I would like to join there group never happened before. Very good course
Hawkstone has 2 championship courses with plenty of interesting holes. When we played here the greens were fast. This is a perfect venue for a golf break or society day.Reviewer Rating

Both courses are excellent and challenging, that said both courses need to have different coloured flags to distinguish the front, centre or back of the greens

Interesting and challenging course although on the day the bunkers were like concrete and the signage for the hole and the next hole was poor. The course map on the card was too small to be of any use to a first timer

We found this course through Golfbreaks, it has two courses. When we played the courses were in very good condition. I would recommend having a few days there so you can play both courses.
