An over priced course. Average parkland course, the other course in Harpenden is so much better

Flat parkland course, slow play
Mainly flat parkland course, first few holes very muddy even though not much recent rain. A few interesting holes but had the overriding feeling of back and forth. Some enormous greens and greens in very good condition. Very slow players. Fairways being spiked.Reviewer Rating

Hertfordshire Gem
Playing off the yellows, qiute short but very tricky to start, tight fairways with lots of trees to worry about until the 12th when it opens up a lot. Greens were in excellent condition, fast but true. Good test for an average player, would certainly give it another go.Reviewer Rating

Course in very good condition despite lack of rain tee boxes and greens very receptive, though lots of sand! very enjoyable gentlemanly course to play!

Good flat course. No long but quite narrow in places. Very good bunkers. Strange to have two consecutive par 3 's in the middle of the round. Finishes on a par 3 right in front of the club house for those who like applause or ribaldry. Definitely one to revisit.

Beautifully maintained course, Tees and greens in tip top condition. Had a society day there and some 10 handicappers really went ot town below their handicap. So an easy course for the low handcappers - not a bad test for the rest of us.(Round played: Oct 2015 - Score: 87 Handicap: 17.3)

not a great start for our little group as one of us was told he couldn't use the toilet as 'there had been thefts recently'(?!) Day got better though, short game area and a short range available, and nice nets near the clubhouse. New holes are maturing very well, just as good condition as the original parts of the course. Tees all neatly marked, bunkers superb, fairways and greens hard to fault, some nice contouring on the new holes especially.
That said, there are still a few niggles. Greenkeeper on a noisy mower oblivious to us. Far too many (minor) roads crossing the course, constantly have to wait for cars. Common land means lots of dog walkers(although no mess that I saw). Most of all though, I just don't think they have made the best use of the (very large) acreage now available. The course is still very short, hardly need a driver at all, and there are still back to back par 3's.
New clubhouse is superb and bar staff friendly, making up for the earlier incident, but I can't help but feel there is a much better course in this pleasant setting that is just waiting to be let out. As it is, a little underrated on here, I'd have it at least in the 15-20 range of herts golf courses.

Course plays short after dry weather. Tees and greens in very good shape despite yellowing fairways. Flat course so easy to walk.
