No water but greens that challenge the very best. Parkland course that tests your fitness if carrying. Buggies are available. Signature hole is the twelfth where you tee off over a valley. It's only 165 odd but I've seen so many people including low handicappers under club it completely. Clubhouse is superb with excellent facilities, friendly staff and good food.

Awful experience
Chronologically, I started the day at the driving range, there were a variety of poor range balls and they were very much overpriced, if you pay for 25 balls, only 23 come out. I walked up to the driving range and it was effectively a field with very few targets (yardages on the post weren’t even accurate). The mats were rock solid and ‘stoney’ which I noticed caused damage to my irons. In addition, I couldn’t even hit driver because they don’t provide a rubber tee - you have to pay an extra £3 to borrow one. The chipping green was in poor condition, many divots taken out of the green and incredibly slow.Proceeding onto the course, the fairways looked like the rough and the greens were painfully slow. One of the positives is that the design of the course is relatively pleasant, it’s a real shame that it’s not maintained by the green keepers. After a tedious front 9, the ‘newly renovated’ half way house contained two vending machines that didn’t take cash and the machine didn’t register my / my partner’s contactless cards. The back 9 was equally disappointing, poor condition and slow bobbly greens.
After the round, we went into the clubhouse to have a drink and a small meal. The menu was simply appalling, overpriced and lacked a variety of healthy options. For instance, we ordered a bowl of chips (£3) to share, they were completely undercooked - we had a couple each and left them. I ordered bangers and mash (£10), the sausages were clearly of poor quality and the mash was mediocre. My wife ordered a Caesar salad (£9) and she thought it was very much ‘average’.
To conclude, this was a dreadful experience, we had high expectations from their social media platform images as well as the gallery on the Harleyford website however this was completely unrepresentative of the reality of the course. I’m very disappointed by the range, the condition of the course, the greens, the clubhouse menu (variety and pricing).
Before paying for green fees or range tokens at this club, I’d strongly recommend having a look around the place - in order to know the lifeless reality of the club before spending money.

Good club but poor condition
We attended a charity golf day. The venue is well laid out with spacious bar and dining area and good changing rooms and showers. However the course was in poor condition with dry and bare patches on fairways and greens were inconsistent with different grasses causing poor travel and direction.Reviewer Rating

Overpriced poor condition golf course
Disappointed with this golf club, lovely layout but condition was very bad, patchy fairways and embarrassing greens. Very overpriced green fee for what should be a ‘pay and play’. Maybe worth £15 not £50. Field of a driving range.Reviewer Rating

Standards slipping
Despite the incredible amount of rainfall in August, I expected to still see good conditions at Harleyford... unfortunately the greens were all very bobbly and looked as though disease had taken over a number of them, and the fairways had a tinge of late autumn-ess to them with lots of dried mud, to the extent that I feel preferred lies should have been in play. The course itself is still a treat with few gimme holes and a great challenge, but the greens are what HGC is known for, and the greens are what's letting it down at the moment.Reviewer Rating

Poor fairways, excellent greens
Overall a superb facility , clubhouse etc, but as is the case with a lot of course without integral sprinkler systems the fairways are in a terrible condition and really a local rule for pick and place should be force. Without rain things are not gogin to improve. The greens are immaculate and overall a good course with a variety of interesting holesReviewer Rating

Starting to recover
After the hot summer the grass is starting to regrow, and the work done to the course is paying off. I don't think it will be that long before it's back to it's bestReviewer Rating

Nice course
Played here as part of a society day and a good day was had by all. I was expecting the course to be a bit better for the price to be honest. I have played better courses at a fraction of the cost but it was good for a one off. The greens were the most challenging I have ever played and was a serious leveller for all players (personally too challenging for may on my society day). Clubhouse, surroundings and staff were fantastic.Reviewer Rating
