nice flat course with deer running around, going off line can cost you dearly, the rough is not very forgiving, green are quite good, nice view of Hampton Court House. Downside . No toast with breafast. 6/10.

Avoid

The course is not in good condition. It’s been badly neglected during the lockdown and some of the greens have huge holes that have been dug by animals. The green keepers have just thrown sand in these and left them.

This was once a real members club that welcomed visitors. The existing members are now leaving in numbers and it’s becoming an overpriced pay and play that is trying to cram every tee time full to make as much money as possible. The new owners claim they are investing in the course and they have started putting in irrigation for example. But leaving the course to fall apart during lockdown doesn’t seem to support this new ethos.

Maybe they will get the course back in shape. But that looks a long way away and right now, I would not pay to play this course.

Great Location... Poor course

The course is nicely positioned near Hampton Court, however, that's where the positives end. Fairways were bare and in poor condition, probably the worst I've played this year. Considering the amount of rain and sunshine we have had this year, better care could have been taken of the fairways. The greens had been spiked and therefore were not playing true and had areas of bare patches on them.

Not a nice course. Sign posts bad, rough is ridiculous. Fairways not looked after and just not a nice place to play.

Probably in the top 5 worst courses I have ever played. Clearly they've spent all their money on the clubhouse and nothing on the course. They let anyone play. I'm all for people learning the game, but when everyone you see looks like they've never played before it gets a bit much.
Had to walk off after 13 holes. That was at the 5 hour mark.
The course is not in good condition. It should have been left as a deer park.

Very up and down and dull course they need to put there prices down as there are far more better tracks around surrey for the money they charge! I am a crown member and get this for free anyway but I still wouldn't bother with it.

Played Hampton court on the 16/09/13 lovely to see dear roaming around. Very boring up and down, the worst condition fairways I've ever seen bare none. The fairways were so bad I pulled off the 9th. Will not be returning. Handicap 12.

Pace of play shocking!

Don't bother playing here unless you have 5 hours (2 ball Friday afternoo). Obviously over subscribed membership,.overpriced food and drinks. Beautiful setting.

Thanks for the review and feedback David, the speed of play at the busiest times usually sits around 4 - 4.5 hours but will feel longer in a 2 ball which is why we offer the 4 ball pair ups which bring people together and level out the speed. In terms of pricing, you must not be a local as we are very well priced as mentioned to us by many of the locals within the community. Glad you enjoyed the setting, its hard to beat!

Is there supposed to be grass on fairways?

Maybe I’m new to uK golf, but this course had fences on the fairway, dirt for fairways. I didn’t see a green fairway until I reached 18.

Staff was great however.

Reply:
Apologies for any poor communication, our fences are all around new turf around the new bunkers due to the 400+ deer roaming the site and they love to destroy new turf. The bunker renovation project is almost half way and should complete in March 2023 along with fairway irrigation which will really improve the course layout, conditions and challenge all types of golfers. If you play during the winter, please be sure to visit as the course is built on gravel and will be on tees and greens! Hope to see you again soon.

Drains well. Club House closed when finished round, lots of temporary greens, greens in terrible condition - looks like minimal amount of green keeping work. Seems a better place for a function than to enjoy a game of golf. Very expensive food and drink on course.

Slow and tough with too much rough

There appears to be a want to get as many people out on the course in 4 balls searching for wayward drives in the substantial amounts of deep rough. A number of groups gave up after almost 3hr 9 holes, meaning my back nine quickened somewhat, still, I've played a few times recently and must be an almost 5 hour average for a round on the weekend. Nice club/course with putting green and chipping area, but to have no range balls available and no practice net to hit a few balls into isn't great.

Easy Walking Course

This course inside the palace grounds is an easy walking course despite some trees it is flat an uninteresting as if playing in a big field which of course you are.
