Reviewed Apr 2 2017
We had a great day and stunning views across the Forth, however compared to Dunbar (just round the coast) the course felt very worn and in need of some rest. The club house was great and we were given a warm welcome. The low overall rating is driven by the green keeps. On 3 holes they were doing significant maintenance (fine with that), however they wouldn't interact (e.g. say play or not) so I had to play a shot over their heads on 17 (they were watching me as I played, however its hard to hit a ball straight over somebody's head) and on the last they stood about 5 yards from the flag (I therefore under hit the ball) and I ended up in the bunker which collectively destroyed my otherwise promising score.
So my lasting impression was that the course was very over hyped and the high numbers of visitors was leading to a lot of wear and tear and although we had a good time (up until the 16th), Dunbar was significantly better.
