The Worst Greens I Have Ever Played On
I'm honestly amazed that they have any members left with the poor quality of the greens. Putting the ball towards the hole is like a game of Plinko. They have tried to cover the holes / bare patches with sand, and plenty of it!! When your ball lands on the green it sounds like its landed in the bunker!!! Such a shame because I enjoyed the course layout and the clubhouse is excellent. Apart from the greens the golf course was in good condition.Reviewer Rating

Appauling in winter
Just played this course this morning. And its was appualing. Drainage appauling. Every shot me and my playing partner hit plugged that bad that you couldnt find it thats including in the fairways. Ive seen better drainage in a boggy field. Course was that bad it shouldnt of been open. This is a course for the summer as its beautiful in the summer.Reviewer Rating

Nice staff who were warm and welcoming, but let down by some of the slowest and rudest members of any club i've ever experinced. Don't expect a slow 3 ball to let through a 2 ball, and when you quiz them on why this is the case, they respond in a rather unexpected agressive manner.

Lovely hilly parkland course near Cwmbran
Since Covid I have been fortunate enough to have more time to play golf and explore local courses near to Newport. This is a lovely parkland course which is fairly forgiving and in very good condition with great views over the valleys. You don't need a driver here but it can be hilly so provides some tricky shots at times but it also doesn't get as wet as other courses in the area in bad weatherGreens roll fast and smooth and can be challenging (number 12 especially!). It has a floodlit driving range although be warned signs are listed in meters not yards, a putting area, 18 holes and a lovely club house with sauna and gym. Staff and players are very friendly and social. Enjoyed it so much I decided to sign up as a member!
