It’s a nice course greens r good for the time of the year but the bunkers r crap they need some right work on them south chesterfield r still playing of winter mats even though it’s the summer season n u can not record your score for your handy cap because they r still of mats

Not Impressed

You would think through lockdown some courses would have improved. Not here, uneven tees, patchy greens, bunkers with and without sand, in general a very untidy golf course. Apparently there is a waiting list to join this club (so members tell me), well lets hope they're not waiting for golf course improvements!

Avoid

Terrible course, very scruffy, tees uneven, patchy greens, inconsistent bunkers, and members with no etiquette or golfing knowledge. Will not be returning!

Very poor the fairways are so dry and bare the grass is dead and like hitting off concrete, likewise the tee boxes. Bounce is ridiculous and inconsistent I have never seen balls bounce 12 ft over a flag before at all angles until playing here you would have more luck landing a wedge on the motorway. Credit where credit is due the greens are very good but the rest of the course lets it down and needs digging up. Better courses in the area for less money, none of my group will be returning.

The course was in terrible condition, very dry and uneven bounces on fairways. The ball was bouncing over the flag from well short of the green and balls were impossible to stop. Once on the green the surfaces were reasonable. The tees were very bare and uneven. Fairways patchy and inconsistent with large areas of bare grass. Will not return to this course in the future. Tapton and Walton are much better courses in the area.

11 Sept two none members arive to play pre booked 18 holes for 10.40 am assured this was not a time effected by club match play or a busy time, checked in 10.30 am, and given go ahead to play. at first tee found four ball waiting to start ? followed their very slow play on first, than found another four ball waiting for second hole start ? slow play on second hole, arived third tee 11.20 to find three more four balls waiting to play third. estimated wait to play time 15/20 mins, with limited time availible to play we returned to club house, to ask why the course is so busy? and told the problem is members who turn up to play without booked tee time. the result is a string of ruined pre booked play times, on complaint got credit slip reurned to play again some time, but the thing is how do we or you know we will not have this problem again ?

At least 5 years after the course redevelopment started the course is still a bit of a mess. The 283 yard par 4 second is now a 100 yard par 4 and there are 4-5 temporary greens in October. Although the people are friendly, the club seem to have lost sight of keeping the course playable. You can get an afternoon round on a Sunday for £9. In its current state that is a little expensive.

The staff r very polite and helpful but the manager thinks 4 n half hours is acceptable for around of golf he should stop watching the professionals on the tv the course is good the greens are very good but there is loads of sand in some bunkers n no sand in the others the bins don’t get emptied n r over flowing but slow play is a nightmare n on competition days they should only have members going out up to 12 o’clock n in 3 r 4 balls only

An Ok Course thats not to expensive greens ok, some water comes into play on a couple of holes, the rough is punishing and very thick so being straighter is a benefit.
