Beautiful Course
Played for first time today, wasn’t expecting much and clubhouse is slightly dated but where this course comes into its own is the golf course! Which is what it’s all about. Very well looked after, stunning setting and being a golf course that’s been around for a long long time approaching 100 years the course layout is fantastic and a lot of the time you can’t even see the other holes or other golfers. Reall beautiful layout and loads of challenging interesting holes with hazards. The rough is light and not the type that if you land a foot into you have no chance of finding your ball. You’re more likely to drop shots of the cleverly designed course hazard which is how it should be. Greens spot on and overall very well kept course. Best in Cambridge I’ve played, loved it. Greens are great, good mix of holes.
Both long and short hitters can play without being penalised.
Speed of a round is excellent.

Played at Girton last week for the first time in a number of years. The condition of the course was just what you wish to find, Lush fairways, well manicured greens and lots of foliage. I always like playing old courses and this whilst relatively flat (it is East Anglia I suppose) it has a real quality feel about it. I had read it was a short course but actually it means that you have to THINK about your clubs and not take the driver out on every tee which makes a varied round. One of those courses that takes a couple of rounds to really appreciate and you want to go back to - which I will be doing.

Flat as a pncake but that's to be expected for Cambridgshire golf. tight course and ther greens in great condition. You must be able to hit straight

Well-kept course
Girton golf course, very friendly staff and fellow golfers. We played in freezing weather and although winter greens were in play the course was extremely playable and is a great looking course. The winter greens were bobbly but fun to play. The main greens looked lovely, we look forward to going back in warmer weather and playing.The staff were friendly although not a full lunch menu was available but bacon sandwiches were warm and welcoming.

Worth Playing
Course is worth a visit if you are local.Tidy shortish course but quite challenging in places - especially off the tee. Have done some work recently to try and improve some of the holes. The greens were really good and subtle breaks ca be tough to read. Enjoyable course.

Excellent club and course
Very good conditon even though it was under course maintenance. Excellent flat parkland kept very well with ground improvements happening continually. Bar staff very friendly with good choice of snacks and meals. Recommended(Round played: Sep 2019 - Score: 87 Handicap: 19.5)

Great Fun
I do enjoy a visit back to Girton.The layout of the course is a friendly one for most abilities, long hitter wont need to hit driver much but there are some tricky holes.
The greens have subtle breaks which are hard to master. A couple of great dog leg holes too.
All round its a great course for any ability.

Thinking course
I love the fact that Girton Golf course is challenging but fair test of golf.In my opinion its great if you like to think and plot your way around a course as many holes you may want to think about club choice off the tee. Driver is not always the best option with dog legs, ditches and bunker all over.
The condition is great, green run really well and so true, being in Cambridgeshire that aren't that many that have tough breaks, more subtle.
They have done some work on the course in more recent years - moving bunkers and adding a pond on the long par 3 12th, this only add to the experience.
Great track and well worth a visit.

Gem
A shorter, par 69 course, but shouldnt be taken lightly. Most tee shots are very demanding, greens are always super slick and hazards in all the right places.
A very nice variety of holes means you shouldn't get bored round here but higher handicappers may struggle with some of the more demanding holes, especially if the wind picks up.

The course played well in windy conditions, The greens were true and held their line. A lot of work has gone into the course over the winter and the improvements are working. An enjoyable round of golf which I would recommend to other golfers

Nice little par 69 in Cambridgeshire with easy access to the M11/A14. Course is one of the best during the summer months but may get slightly wet during the winter.
Greens are the highlight, well kept and always run nice a true.
Nice mixture of holes where you shouldn't hit a driver from a tee.
It is tight in places so some may struggle if not under control of your ball.

course in good condition as usual but walking between holes hard work as grass quite long.the deal of £12 on a Monday is excellent value for money.
