Turned away
First time in 30 years of playing that I\'ve ever been denied access to a golf course. We arrived on a dry day at the end of a relatively dry week in mid-October to be interrogated over the tyres on our electric trollies, both of which are equipped with all-weather tyres and not the hedgehog tyres more suitable for the depths of winter. We were told that these tyres were not suitable and we would not be able to play unless we hired pull trollies which are not suitable for good posture. There were however buggies on the course, which seemed rather contradictory to the supposed conditions which necessitate hedgehog tyres, but the last buggy had just been rented out. We saw three people either exiting the course or going out to play with the exact same tyres on electric trollies, but none were challenged. I guess members are allowed to do what they want, but visitors aren\'t. We also witnessed someone initially being told that their waterproof trousers were not suitable because they \"had stripes\", while at the same time not challenging a member of the same group who was in black jeans. This gives off a horrible perception that they will nit-pick randomly to stop visitors playing, while employing double standards and allowing members to not have to adhere to the same guidelines.\\Plenty of other welcoming courses in the area, so we won\'t be back.Reviewer Rating

Tired and in need of a lot TLC
I've played this course on and off over the years, the club house and course are looking very tired. It's a shame as for the past few years I've noticed some general improvements but now the course looks unkept in areas with damaged bunkers, paths in the middle of the course which seem unsafe with missing astroturf areas and uneven areas. The bridges over the streams seem to be falling down and you take your life in you hands when crossing and just hoping they stay in one piece as you cross. I hope over the next twelve months they pay more attention to detail as there plenty of other places to play which are in much better condition.Reviewer Rating

Unwelcoming and overpriced
Drove 2 hours couldn't even have a drink pre/post round as it's a members only bar. Fairways scorched no grass on them and you have to tee up 10 yards back if you want to tee off on a bit of grass. Also charged us more than advertised price and gave us nothing. Poor practice facilities.Would never go back.Reviewer Rating

Played with a group of friends course ok greens good fairways a bit bare pace of play was good as for the clubhouse was not invited in club pro were fine the rest very snobby we got the feeling we were not welcome will not be returning

My thoughts of the course itself Was ok but the greens could be better, however the atmosphere and unfriendliness of the other members ( the captain) which it makes individuals not want to put there money in such an unwelcome golf course. This club is also very close knit making it harder to interact and near on impossible for a new member to feel comfortable. This shows as only 4 people joined last year when it was the open day. Shame as under better management thus could made a nice golf club and business able business

Course itself was nice enough, but the greens were in bad shape. Not only far too long, but very patchy. Club house very dated and there isn't even a proper terrace to take your drinks out onto. The welcome from the secretary, staff and members was extremely warm and relaxed however.

New course to play, £22 for twilight golf after work is pretty reasonable. The course played well, considering the recent rain. Lots of unrepair divots on fairways and greens. Pace of the greens was reasonable (some area's could be better). I was behind a two ball from hole 2 and whilst keeping good pace they never let me through and was made to wait on most holes, which made a quick round rather slower.

Greens were true but a tad slow. Fairways recovering from the adverse conditions but the course was enjoyable to play. Course management required

Very Wet
Very wet today, parts of the course unplayable greens played very well. Only two temporary greens and not that many mats on the tee, still enjoyable.(Round played: Mar 2018 - Score: 100 Handicap: 23.5)
