Risk and Reward Course
A cracking course in the east of Essex. You need to be on the ball from the first hole, with out of bounds to the right on the first four holes. After that the course is more open and some very short par 4's which are driveable. Greens are small which means a good short game is crucial. They are rapid too which was a nice surprise. Would definitely play again, especially for £10 twilight!!!(Round played: Jun 2018 - Score: 84 Handicap: 11.6)

Love this course. The original 9 holes are some of the most interesting holes in Essex. The most recently added holes allow you to open up the driver a little more with plenty of space for wayward shots. Very Friendly clubhouse and staff. Speed of play on every visit has been good with 3.5 hour rounds on every occasion.

Given the recent cold and wet weather and the amount of rain that came down during the round I thought the course was in very good condition. 1 temporary green and 1 really wet one, but other than that they played well, rest of the course was excellant and very fair. A few winter tees in play but mostly on par 3s which is better for play. A course that makes you think and create shots which I really enjoy and as my coach is based here and he's been really good I must give him a plug, Craig Lockwood. Just wish it was nearer home and the weather was better!

Although I enjoyed the course and the round, I did find the layout a bit higgledy piggledy. There is a lot or walking between Green and Tees and I think it could be laid out better. There are also a couple of holes where you walk round the corner straight into the line of play, such as the short Par 3 11th. The walk back to the 18th Tee is long and goes alongside the 2nd so beware here as well.

Favourite home course

First Time playing at Forrester Park
~Six of us at this Tuesday club round.Course in very good condition considering we have had a lot of rain over the past few weeks. Friendly sociable service and good food.
Old school in terms of layout and some very interesting holes, particularly the tree holes of the 8/10/12 which as a first timer were challenging. Enjoyable round.

a new course for us
This was my first time playing Forrester Park. It started easy with straightforward level holes but as the round progressed there were a few holes where we couldn't see where the green was. At the 8th the green is behind a row of trees and on the 10th the fairway is on open ground shared with the 18th hole. Although they are separate fairways the slope of the ground and the "not very obvious" 10th green makes for uncertainty with new players.Reviewer Rating

Nice little practice course
Good course to practice on. Good fairways given the condition. Some nice layouts of holes. Very forgiving roughs. As some holes are so closely packed, a mis-hit can be on a fairway.Down sides: short course, in particular a number of par 4s and 5s. Tee boxes were in poor condition, lots of seed/sand is down. Supposing considering very little play over the last year. Greens are rock hard,

A tale of two halves.
I hadn't played here for some years and it was a pleasure to meet up with an old friend and play this course again. Developed from a 9 holes old course into a new 18 holes created an interesting mix of the old and the new together. The tees could have had been cut but otherwise a really enjoyable round. Forrester Park never disappoints
I play here regularly as I'm a member. The course gets better and better all the time. The summer this year brought near drought conditions but the greens remained superb. It's a testing course as the first few holes follow the perimeter and have trees and OOB to the right. On other holes, trees guard the greens. But there are more forgiving holes to balance this out. The clubhouse gives good value and staff are friendly.Reviewer Rating
