Don't play this course
Fingle Glen is the worst maintained course my wife and I have ever played on. The greens are in a terrible condition. They had been hollow tined recently but that wasn't the problem. They are diseased which has left bare patches. The bunkers have not been maintained. The sand is compacted. The fairways were covered in clumps of wet mown grass. The layout of the course is very odd and lacking in signage. The buggy we hired had not been cleaned since the previous players.

Disappointing......Had a nice day for it and was looking forward to this course having herd decent things, have to say though it was disappointing. Was looking for a tee time around 11:30 and got on at 11:24 at short notice, result!...... To be honest should have given me cause for concern, course was near empty on a beautiful September Saturday on Ryder cup weekend, all other courses within 25 miles were pretty chocca.I think it was quiet because it isn't that great, greens on front nine were full of sand and holes, fairways and tees covered in missing divot marks, and generally the course is a bit repetitive and boring.Seriously hilly, take a cart, we didn't and I had cramp on the last two holes!

Played here for the first time as a 3 balls with fellow golfers who have played before. The course was wet under foot due to heavy rain so we were on a shortened course. Signage was quite poor in places, first 13 holes were on blue tees but 14th was yellow/red/white on a mat with a sign pointing to nowhere. Another tee(7th) had tee markers in an elevated tee, walked over to it to then be waved over by group in front of us who pointed to another 'shared' tee where we should be teeing off. So very confusing. To top it ell I think we were overcharged for green fees which we questioned before paying, though assured correct price... Checking on their website when I got home I think we were overcharged by a couple of pounds... Not a huge amount of money but having queried in the pro shop I would have thought it would have been checked before we paid. Will probably play again when the weather is better as unfair to rate the course in wintery conditions.... But signage and green fee pricing are pretty much thingsthat should have been under better control, so feeling somewhat underwhelmed from a customer service standpoint. On a positive note coffee andd bacon sandwiches in restaurant were nice.

just spent a week here in a lodge, what a great course don't be fooled by its short length this is no pushover, very fast greens and rough that although not long is very thick and gives some interesting lies and grabs clubs (also makes it hard to find ball) very hilly and would recommend a buggy, all in all a great course

This was for my stag weekend, had a brilliant time, a very challenging course if you have not played it before, not for the feint hearted, a buggy is a must, very hilly and a bit mixed up, as in, you need to buy a guide to show you where the next holes are and they charge you £3 for a booklet, the weather at times was unbearable but by using a buggy you get the breeze when driving it driving to your next shot, greens very dry and not in that good condition, the staff there are fantastic and so friendly that i would recommend the Fingle Glen Hotel to everyone, the package we had was so good, the experience was superb, the log cabins are just brilliant, i know this may seem as if i am plugging the place but really i am so impressed with the place that i am going back next year with the lads.

We visited here while in the area and had a great time, a couple of short par 4's but all holes different and offered a great challenge and the newly refurbished clubhouse was fantastic value for money

Nice variety of holes... This is a Fairly hilly course that will challenge the long hitters if your not fairly accurate... Unfortunately this poor little course suffers the abuse of non handicapped/non members chopping & churning up the fairways, both with buggy's & their lack of golfing etiquette!

Good course. The back 9 was significantly more challenging, although weather played a part too.
