Excellent course. Well worth a visit
Finchley is a great test of your all round game. Narrow fairways, plenty of OOB, and undulating, quick greens, even in the very wet conditions played in today. A great mix of holes, ranging from short to long par 3's, 4's and 5's which made the round really enjoyable. There's few warm up nets, a small chipping area alongside and quite a small putting green, which if I was being over critical could do with being relocated from its present position and made a bit larger, it really is too small. The imposing historical looking clubhouse is welcoming and adds a touch of character to the place and the hospitality is first rate. There's a good selection of beer and excellent catering on hand. I'm going to return in the summer, as I'd like to see Finchley as its best. It was a tough test in the wet, windy conditions, but a thoroughly enjoyable one.(Round played: Oct 2019 - Score: 92 Handicap: 19)

Second time around this course and appreciated and enjoyed the nuances of the layout. Course in great condition especially as had 15mm of rain in last 24 hrs. Greens still tricky and slick. Friendly staff and members.

- 13th Par 5 Hitting away from the clubhouse with big rail bridge behind the green
- 16th Par 4 Sweeping dog leg
Enjoyed it so much played another round in the afternoon. Looking forward to the next round here.

The course is quite open with holes running close together which means that occasionally you have players crossing paths. The back 9 is the better of the two stretches with some interesting holes. Some par 5s should really be par 4s. Greens were in great condition, but quite tricky with lots of break.

First signs of holding the water on the course. Greens soft & slower. Fairways softer & rough wet & harder to hit through. Even some tees were squishy. Adapt to the conditions or fail. Option B for me. Still a great course but will wait fir some dryer days before returning

Haven't played here for years. A very mature hilly parkland course. Lots of blind shots over ridges. Overall in good condition but some bunkers had water in them and sand was soggy.

Greens now perfect in terms of pace & receptiveness. Fairways good but still a little patchy here & there. Still no real ales in the bar but food v passable.
