Highly priced but Weak course layout
Finchley seems to be an over priced course for what it offers. Facilities are good however the course itself has a very weak layout, with a cluster of tee boxes and greens close to each other. Expect to be hearing a lot of 'fore' when you play here. Poor design takes away from what could be a great course.Reviewer Rating

Much better courses in the area, especially for the price.

Tired Clubhouse and Course
Unfortunate circumstances meant the course was under water for most of it. Discounting that for the purposes of the review; you can easily see the club needs an injection of sorts to revitalise what is clearly a great setting and foundation of a courseReviewer Rating

Good value
Course in reasonable condition, greens fast especially given time of year, a number of the fairways suffering from lack of grass, particularly 16th where ball rolled backwards over 50 yards on approach shot. Pace of play good until hit a slow competition three ball.Reviewer Rating

Fairways were average after the dry summer. First hole is silly, a par 4 you could stick an iron close to. Tenth has the same problem but would make a nice tough par 3 with an elevated tee. Last hole is spectacular but has a hidden open ditch. Forcing a lay up if you know it’s there. Desperately needs filling in and the drive tightening.
That said, overall very enjoyable far superior to south Herts at the moment, under rated on here.
