Course good

All fine with the course. The food we ordered after in the bar was very slow and was long delays. Expressed that we were not happy to bar staff and this was put right immediately.

Farrington Park is a wonderful course which has been set out almost in 3 different sections. There is a tricky front 5 holes which are tight and challenging, starting with a drivable par 4 dog leg 1st hole. The 2nd, 3rd and 4th holes are straight par 4's but accuracy is key as there are trees lurking on either side of the fairways to catch any wayward drives. Finishing with a well guarded par 3 you will do well to come out of the front 5 holes level handicap.
Moving up onto the 6th hole, stroke index 1, you will do well to come off with par when the wind is against you as it often is. The wind can be your friend or foe on the remainder of the front 9 holes as it will either take your ball towards the picturesque lakes running through the 7th and 8th holes, or help keep it on the fairway and in play from the out of bounds off the right.
Moving to the back 9 you start with a long par 3 which is surrounded by bunkers ready to swallow any tee shots that fall short or drift right. The 11th is a great scoring hole as it's a par 5 easily reachable in 2 when the wind is your friend. A tricky green will make sure your putting is on point. The 12th hole at Farrington Park is their signature hole, a drop down par 4 which is drivable in any condition but certainly is a risk reward hole. The lake to the front left of the green will happily swallow any drives that are not spot on, and will even accept any wedge shots from the fairway that fall short. A hole that you can eagle or triple bogey dependant on your drive is always a pleasing one to play. Heading back up the hill to the par 5 13th a blind tee shot will test your trust and a solid drive will set up a lay up to the corner on the double dog leg. The longer hitters out there could get there in 2 but it's a blind second shot from wherever you will end up from the drive. A par on this hole is a good score. Hole 14 is a straightforward par 4, stroke index 18, and drivable with a 3 wood most days, a birdie is easily achieved here. The par 3 15th is interesting because the green is huge so depending on the flag position and where you end up you could either have a 5 foot birdie putt or a 50 foot birdie putt. The last 3 holes will keep you on your toes if you have a good score going. The dog leg left 16th can punish you if you hit it right off the tee but get one away over the big tree on the corner of the dog leg and you will have a wedge left in. Too far right and your looking at a 4 iron into a narrow green. The 17th is well protected off the tee with 2 large lakes either side of the fairway. A long straight tee shot is ideal but you risk taking on the lakes if you are even marginally offline. A 5 iron off the tee will keep you short of the lakes but will still leave another 5 iron into the 2 tiered green, so a decision needs to be made off the tee. The final hole is a straightforward par 4 back towards the clubhouse, no real danger but you might find a bit of pressure when you get to the green as the clubhouse patio and balcony overlook the green so on busy days you might find a crowd observing your birdie putt.

Overall, the course is in great condition and a real challenge for the everyday golfer. An aggressive approach can see you round in a low score but there are a few well placed hazards to catch out any one not giving the course their full attention.

The clubhouse is well presented and friendly staff will see that you enjoy he 19th hole as much as the previous 18.
