Really shouldn't have been open

I've played here a couple of times and to be honest I'm struggling to remember any particular holes. It's generally bland. However, our day was really not up to expectation. Torrential rain the night before left the course soaked and very muddy. Was like walking through sticky custard at times around the tees and greens and between holes. The fairways were soaking wet. Standing water on every one of them. Bunkers were either solid or had water in them. And then it poured down again while we were out there.
If they need money that badly and are prepared to keep the course open in these conditions they are going to lose lots of customers, especially when it dries out and all they've got left is hard earth.

I have been playing this course a lot all the time it was a public course so i was eagerly anticipating playong it knowing fox hills had talen over.boy what a dissapointment.at £24 it is quite pricey and the course has been changed, but not for the good.the rough was very high, mown in places and just left as dead grass so no chance of finding your ball if hit off the fairway.the third fairway had a huge patch of rough accross the middle which just looked ugly and scruffy.the greens were good, the tees shocking and the fairways hard, scabby and not good.today we played in the afternoon which was a warm calm beautiful day and we were virtually the only players on the course which says it all.once played, never again!!!we could jave played east sussex narional for less and that is a superb course.be warned!!

This course is ok.Played much better for money and on top of a hill which makes it even colder on a cool day!
Society golf is pretty much the market here and would never consider this for membership.
They take societies on a Saturday am.

I was a bit disappointed because after the pandemic lockdown I had expected the course to be in good shape but it was average they seemed to have spent their time on cutting down trees greens, fairways and bunkers seemed to have had very little work if any done on them.

Wide open, undulating fairways

Farleigh Golf Course has very few memorable holes. The Yellow course was more enjoyable to play. I can't remember any of the holes from the red course. The greens had been hollow tined and sanded, so the were not very true.

Greens very bumpy after spiking which we understand has had to be undertaken early due to hosting of PGA Masters event, but recent weather has hampered their recovery. Course generally untidy (bunkers not raked, fairway grass seemed long etc) but clubhouse is immaculate and staff are very helpful (especially Angie)

The course itself is in good nick, greens will take a well hit ball, they run true and are a good pace. What I don't like is the lack of definition, due to the absence of trees- the place used to be a farm, so it's very open. The fairways are therefore defined by some extremely long grass just off the first cut of rough. The higher handicappers I was playing with found the long grass very tough, as once you're in it you're either hacking out sideways or re-loading. Not a bad course by any stretch just not my fave.

Unfortunately our group was delayed in getting out as there was a backlog in front and the pace of play was slow which meant I had about a 15 min break for lunch. Nice looking course but far too much heavy rough just off the fairways, but my main gripe was the ridiculous pin positions on nearly every hole I.e often on the edge of the green and behind a bunker if there was one.

Rough is a joke

Usually enjoy playing Farleigh, but they have let the rough grow to a level where if the ball rolls of the fairway or goes straight into the rough, you won't be finding it, which takes the enjoyment out of the round.
