I am a member here ,but I play other courses around so I am quite fair on the course condition. The greens are and have been for the last two months in tip top condition, the fairways are average to good the tees need lots of work on them to be level, the green staff and club staff are always friendly,we joined 4-5yrs ago and we love it.

Short but interesting course

I have played at Epping regularly over the years and played with two friends in January 2022. The course is physically quite challenging because of its hilly nature. As it is quite a short course, we usually play off the whites (5434 yards) and did so this time. There are some interesting holes as well as some more straightforward ones, which we like. Although it is very close at one point on the course to the M25/M11 junction, this does not affect the enjoyment of playing.

The clubhouse is fairly basic but has had an extension to the eating area inside in the last few years. The toilets and changing areas are also rather basic. What sets Epping apart from all other golf courses we have played at is the quality of the staff, be it reception, catering staff or ground staff. They are the most friendly and helpful of any golf club we have ever been to, bar none!

We all enjoyed our round and will definitely be back.

Short but challenging course

I played with four friends at Epping in August 2021 and we all enjoyed our rounds. The course sounds short at 5434 yards off the white tees but there are some challenging holes on it. It is a hilly course and is physically quite challenging. The clubhouse is a little on the basic side but improvements have been made since I last played there. What has not changed is the attitude of the staff who are, without fail, the friendliest and most helpful of any golf staff I have encountered. I'm sure we will play there again soon.

Epping is a short but testing essex parkland course, some challenging sloped fairways and par 3?s but forgiving for established players and higher handicappers, played here a few times now and can be waterlogged and difficult in winter though glorious in summer months, could do with some tidy up of rubbish on occasion, however a good venue and works hard against lots of close rivals, enjoyable trip and good scoring possible

Society day out at Epping GC

Twelve of us on the course and despite some early cloud cover the day turned out very hot indeed. Course in very good condition and greens in very nice condition if a tad slow. We played off the Whites as Epping is a short course so a tad difficult n some tee shots. Enjoyable with some Beers after with C19 enforcement in place.

Nice little course

A nice little course tucked away in the north of Essex. Good and interesting layout with rolling hills.

Outstanding condition

This is neither a long nor a tough course but challenging enough to make you think. Mainly a parkland course over some undulating Essex countryside. There are enough well placed bunkers, ponds and trees to make you need to place your tee shots. The trees are are mixture of mature and young which will only improve the course over time.Played this course a number of times but just played it in January and it is in outstanding condition, well done to the green keepers. The far end of the course is bounded by the M25 and M11 so when you're down there enjoying your game spare a though for all those poor souls stuck in traffic jams or going to work, it'll put that slice or hook you just played into perspective.

Hidden gem

A shorter course with three or four steep hills, in good condition barring in mind the weather we've had, the greens were a bit spongy (to much rain). They are always friendly here. Well worth a visit.
