Different Challenge
I was a member here for a year so lets do the positives first.Pro - brilliant, top man and always happy to help.
Members - best around. Dead friendly and accommodating, always made welcome when making up a group in the comp.
Staff - as with the pro they are all great.
19th Hole - great.
Course condition - usually pretty decent with receptive greens that usually run true.
Negatives:
1st / 4th / 5th / 13th - you can hit a fairway and still be blocked out which seems weird, not even with the possibility of going round or over or under. Feels harsh to be penalised for hitting the short grass.
This is a thinkers course. That's fine in comps when you are trying to score but not so much fun when you are with your mates and just want to belt it. I would think that the tee positions would be able to alter the playability of the course as opposed to the actual layout.
Practice areas could be better.
18th doesn't finish near the clubhouse.
Definitely more positives than negatives and I enjoyed my year there but perhaps when my driving is shortening and I am plotting my way round more I will be back.

Matured into very challenging course
First, and previous time, I player this course was about 30 years ago.I was pleasantly surprised yesterday, as to how it has matured into a very well established, picturesque and challenging test.
Some very difficult holes for an intermediate golfer, and only accredited one par 5 to play, although I would dispute this.
My only comment is about the course layout and the distances to some of the tees. This may need a re-think, but overall I would strongly recommend giving this course a try.

Nice course
Unfortunately told 3 winter greens although there were 4 and they are probably the worst winter greens I have played on. The rest of the course was fine for this time of year. Friendly club.Reviewer Rating
