Avoid like the plague

What used to be a great course is now neglected and ridiculously over priced. The owners are not investing in the golf courses and therefore have been left without sufficient maintenance. Tee boxes are bare, bunkers are like clay, everything is overgrown, every green is different with big chucks from birds effecting the roll.
Every green different. £44 a round is a disgrace.
Plenty of far better and cheaper courses nearby. Avoid.

I played the Parklands course last weekend. The course should not have been open, totally flooded. Not many courses where you can lose your golf ball on the fairway, due to the amount of water and soft mud. On the par 3 eighth hole had to run from the tee box to the fairway otherwise you would sink into the mud. On the positive side I will not be playing there again. The green keepers have a big job on their hands trying to fix the damage due to the amount of mud on the fairways and greens. Good Luck

Great location but poorly maintained courses. Rough is absurd for high handicappers and low handicappers would play somewhere in better condition. Hence course is empty, but still takes 5 hours to get round. Where the rough has been cut they left grass cuttings so ball is still impossible to find.

PARKLAND COURSE.. discraceful condition

visited East Horton Parkland Course 6/5/2018. Wanted to play as heard rumours there putting a housing development withing this 18 hole.. VERDICT... YOU MAY AS WELL HURRY UP AND GET ON WITH IT. absolutely discraceful condition. The pro shop have a right cheek to be fair to charge the £28 green fee. Although greens werent too bad fairways the width of your driveway was about as much grass as looked they could be bothered to cut. Even the first cut was a joke. Got through a load of balls as just impossible to find. Bunker on 16th looked derelict. Full of weeds very little sand. No rake. If you cant be bothered with the Parkland now JUST CLOSE OT NOW. Feel cheeted out of a green fee.

Poor course conditions and overpriced

I played the parkland course very recently. The course was in poor condition with lots of standing water on the fairways and the greens had more sand than most of the bunkers. Impossible to putt on due to all the spiker holes. Given the course wasn't at it's best, disappointed to have had to pay full price. Certainly wasn't good value.

not sure who the head greenkeeper is but who ever he is he wants shooting what was a beutifull well kept course is absolutely disgraceful the tees uncut and tee marker not moved the tee banks over grown not sure what they are cutting the fairways with but they reminded me of a pair of old cords i use to wear in the 70's the semi and rough very long with lots of dead grass the greens uncut and covered in drew the hole's not been changed the greens had poor coverage of grass and weeds and as for the bunkers were do you start clay stones weeds no sand and over grown me and my partner decided after 4 holes if we went in a bunker we would take a free drop out because they are just so bad absolutely shocking very sad

Very disappointed

I returned as a visitor to the Greenwood course having been a member until 2018. I was really disappointed with the condition of the course. Clearly some work has been done on the drainage but overall the fairways are very poor as are the greens. The bunkers are virtually unplayable with so many stones and clay like sand. There are areas of wet particularly on the 14th green where one of my playing partners slipped and fell. Considering the cost of £31 per round, I feel that it does not represent value for money and will certainly not be returning.

Suprisingly long. It didn't look long on the card but it is. Up - and down and up again. Quite pretty. Rough - punitive. Take balls. Greens. I don't know what they've done with these greens. More like lawns. We could not get the ball across the green with the putter. Plainly the wrong club.

Terrific pint afterwards outside the greenside bar.

No Pro Shop to speak of. Almost impossible to contact on the phone.

For the price - £27 - I think we'd go again. Although the last time we went was quite some years ago and we didn't return because of the rough. I would like to be able to putt on their greens.
