Nice club, boggy conditions

The dry February has done nothing to help the sodden ground. Plenty of GUR and the conditions were really wet and muddy. Questionable whether course should be open

Poor winter conditions.

Poor winter conditions. Temp greens on fairway which were not cut or smoothed out. The Starter or Pro shop did not mention the temp greens, shows little regard for visitors.

NIce, but......

This is an ok course. Winds it's way though some nice countryside. But, there's no wow factor at all. No signature hole that we could pick out. It's a bit samey for most of the holes.
When we played it the greens were soaking wet and the fairways weren't giving any run. Despite there not having been that much rain in the days before. A bit worrying for when winter comes.
We got a good welcome in the bar and the food was very good.

Nice course

Went here with a Society having not played it before.
Breakfast was great. Very windy conditions on the day made it difficult to focus on the balls. This course has loads of trees and leaves so on this day finding balls was pretty difficult. Course condition was probably 7/10 maybe 8 so acceptable. Greens pretty good. In all an enjoyable day with a good bunch.

Loved the course but very wet for August, could do with better drainage.
Excellent facilities and very friendly staff.
Because it was so wet I'm not sure the cost of £30 is that generous

While there are good things about this course, be very wary of it winter. Yesterday Coombe Wood was bone dry, today Drift was not a pleasant experience because of drainage issues. In particular many of the paths were just mud and casual water. Given that it has been relatively dry the last few days it was surprising to see some casual water on fairways. Footprints were evident on some greens which clearly aren't sand based. If this was a members course, it probably would have been closed.

Hadn't played here for years, and then only once before. Course itself is well designed and a good challenge despite it's apparent lack of length. Back 9 was more interesting than the front as you see some elevation change and 18 is an excellent finishing par 5. Greens were a little slower than expected but true enough with some subtle borrows. Due to the recent dry spell, the fairways were bordering on unplayable with some very odd bounces taking place even when hitting the centre which led to some undesirable results. Rating would be higher once they get that issue sorted via some rain and appropriate care. Our society were very well looked after with both bacon roll and subsequent dinner in the evening being excellent.

Mid Summer in Good Nick

I played the monday after their club championships at the beginnig of July. Having played here in the Autumn it was a totally different experience. Firm greens and fairways. The course was looking at its best with good conditions around the greens and pretty aprons. The greens ran true and it was a real test. One thing to watch out for, you get a bucket of range balls with the green fee but the range opens at 1pm on a Monday. Worth a Summer visit but not so great when it gets wet.

Thoroughly enjoyed the trip to Surrey & was impressed with what we found. Extensive practice areas. Large Driving range. An interesting wooded tree lined course & even though there were several aerated greens they played well if a little slow. The fairways were good if a little worn from the amount of play but held up well. There were 2 shortened holes too but both will be excellent looking at the work that seems not long from completion. Very keen to get back here when all done. Food was good too at lunch sadly the kitchen closed at 5 & missed a return order.

Nice course. Not always super long. Tree lined but often spits your ball back onto the fairway, and not so much rough where you don't find your balls. Greens run well and fast. Course was in good shape. Nice place. Good practice facilities. A course you can score well on.

The course was in great nick the pin positions were very challenging. The driving range and practice areas are excellent.
On the negative side found the organisation a little odd i.e Our package included some food and practice balls which you had to take in that order which is a little strange. I would be wary of the bar prices e.g £5.10 for a pint of lime and soda !!!???
