Value for money

A true test for any golfer, tight, small greens, long par 5. When I visited course was in very good condition and greens were generally in great condition. Prices are just incredible massive value for money.

Fun course to play, a challenge for all levels but not off putting for beginners.

Play up the hill, across the top and then back down, not the hardest walk in the world. Greens are usually surprisingly good. Always very quiet, excellent value at £10 for a full days golf.

Clubhouse usually closed, honesty box for green fees. There are a couple of shops in Rigside and motorway services nearby.

Played it on an evening in late April. Found the early season greens to be better than many courses that charge 5 times as much to play (except the 7th which clearly has had some problems over the winter). A quiet course even on a glorious evening. It may not be the longest but it certainly has other challenges with small greens and elevation changes. Terrific value for money at just £6 for a quick 9 holes or £10 for a day ticket - how anyone can complain at those prices is beyond me.

Excellent value for money and a true test for any golfer. Very scenic par 5's at the top of the course with the second a massive 565 yards with a major dog leg to contend with. Course generally well presented. Clubhouse has facilities but no bar or hot food.

Anyway who can complain at £6 for 9 holes and £12 for an all day ticket. Fabulous value for money.

This is little 9 hole course tucked away in the rolling hills near Lanark. The club is in the process of building a new clubhouse and, after a long period in the doldrums, things are looking good here. It's a quiet course out in the country, in Rigside village on the A70. This is a very hilly course and is really quite a test. There's not a single bunker on this course, but don't be fooled by that. The greens are lovely, and at £6 for 9 holes or £10 for 18 holes, it is certainly good value for money.
