Not the course it used to be
Played Denton on Friday and having played the course a few years ago was really looking forward to going back. Received a friendly welcome just as we did last time but once out on the course became very disappointed. Gone were the excellent greens I remembered instead they were really slow and putts were bouncing across the greens. The tees were really uneven and on several of them it was like playing out of the rough the grass was that long. Talking of rough this was horrendous. Missing the fairway by just a yard or so left you looking in deep grass which looked like it had been cut with a knife and fork. This was not the same course I remembered, avoid unless you are a single digit handicapper who hits it perfectly straight and who isn’t looking for a well maintained and manicured course.Reviewer Rating

Really wet, but still ok
A tight golf course and a good challenge especially with how wet the course was. Enjoyed a couple of beers overlooking the 18th green(Round played: Oct 2019 - Score: 89 Handicap: 10.7)

Flat and not too strenuous course
A very flat course which means it can be quite wet when it rains. Pace of play can be slow at times, but everyone seems friendly enough and the clubhouse is excellentReviewer Rating

Plenty trees!
Greens were very good. Gives a fair test of your game, you need to keep to the fairways though as there are plenty trees & often no way through heading towards the hole.Reviewer Rating

Lots of hidden water on the courses as my playing partner found out. The fairways are very tight with an abundance of trees to tighten any drive. Would play the course completely different second time round. Not a course to open your shoulders, as you pick your way around those trees. Because of the water and a windy day, lots of the holes were turned into lay up holes, adding an extra shot.

Lovely course. Some interesting holes navigating a stream that runs through the course. Some risk reward holes where you have to judge whether to take on the carry. Faiways and tees in good condition. Greens a touch bobbly in places but that's understandable as its been a cold and wet start to the year so growth conditions aren't ideal. I recommend giving it a try. The bacon butty and then the hot pot afterwards were nice.

the course was in good condition but the greens where quite soft.. every step you took it left spike marks and there was even track marks from buggies on the greens...
this was disappointing and made it harder to find a clean line for putting

Soaked but.....

Society Day
We had a golf society day yesterday at Denton. As organiser I found Joanne in the office good to work with and all went pleasingly well. Course was in very good condition for mid April, with true greens. Course was tricky with tree lined fairways and well located water hazards, which came as a surprise to first time players (especially me). We had breakfast, lunch & roast beef dinner during our day there, food was excellent and staff friendly & helpful. For the fee charged, one of the best value society courses we’ve played for a while. Nice course, worth playing
First time playing Denton GC in well organised open event. Friendly welcome all round. Good practice facilities. Course was still a little wet in places following weeks of rain. Greens true but not that quick. Some tough par 4s especially 4th, 7th and 16th, do well to get up in 2. Long par 3s (2nd & 8th). Must be hitting well and straight to score on this one. Enjoyed the round though. Mostly on the flat so fairly easy to walk around.(Round played: May 2018 - Score: 81 Handicap: 6.3)

Nice course close to the city centre
Had very little expectations of Denton, hadn't heard much about it before playing, but I was pleasantly surprised. A few tricky holes where you need to know where to go, but it's the perfect course to nip to after work for a quick 18! Great clubhouse too!Reviewer Rating

Excellent course but played poorly at first due to rain. Brightened up and course played a lot better. Greens were no in best condition.

The greens had just been hollow tined and sanded, so were rather poor.
The green keppers did go round and sweep the greens before our second round in the afternoon so that helped a bit.
For September the course did look rather well played over the summer and will need some treatment over the winter.

Lovely but difficult course. Tree lined fairways mean anything hit off centre is punished however the rough is cut back allowing you to at least find your ball. Ditch comes into play on numerous holes. Good course management to avoid it especially on final holes.
