Disappointing Condition

Group of 20 played 2 rounds Sunday / Monday .
Firstly to start with a positive, the hotel was excellent- well done .
Unfortunately that’s where the positivity ends .
The greens were very poor, literally had weeds growing on them .
Unfortunately, the tee beds were worse . On some of the tee beds weeds would have been a luxury - there were 3 tee beds that were just completely compacted mud (3rd , 5th 17th) - no grass , not even a weed - just mud .
Obviously there are issues with the course that need resolving as I’ve played previously and was decent .
Won’t play again unless issues resolved .

Poor greens

How can you justify hollow tining the greens when you know you have hundred of players booked in who have payed a lot of money to play and stay, it ruined what was supposed to be a good two days golf, the weather was brilliant, the course it’s self was challenging but the greens ruined everything, won’t be going back there.

Getting Better

The course has had a lot more work done this year and looks good.
Greens are running well and the bunkers are improving as work progresses.
Bar has had a makeover but the prices have also gone up.

The course is having work done at various times during the week, so please check before booking. Some fairways are still bogey and the ball is not rolling far which at this time of year is to be expected. The club house is not open during the week and isn't the best at service and beer choice on a weekend at the moment, but there is a total refurbishment due sometime in April so hopefully things will get better in the summer!!!!!

Felt just like a hotel course.

Played holes 1-18 (of the 27 there). Overall everything was ?ok?. Nothing memorable about the course, felt like a lot of the par 4s were very similar. Was in decent condition, can't really criticise, wouldn't rave about the place either.

the course is as always let down badly by the terrible state of its bunkers. Nearly all the greenside ones are compacted with a poor mixture of decent sand, grit sand and ballast. Why anyone ever even considered putting sand with pebbles and stones in a bunker is beyond me. the 10th fairway bunker had been filled with great greenside sand, but there was too much to stand in without sinking. Please "Q" take all the rubbish out of the bunkers and put some proper sand in both the fairway and greenside bunkers.

A very nice course. Played in windy conditions. Fairways a quite wide and when you are driving well as I was this weekend it is an easy course for a high handicapper

Luckily had groupon voucher so round and 100 ball on the range cost £19 would never pay £70 for a round here. Course is dull and unimaginative. £14 for a burger and £4.95 for a pint, this is Rothwell not St Tropez!!

Doesn't even compare to 2 rounds at Carden Park £125 plus 1 night accomadtion and a 3 course meal for £125.
