Poor greens
How can you justify hollow tining the greens when you know you have hundred of players booked in who have payed a lot of money to play and stay, it ruined what was supposed to be a good two days golf, the weather was brilliant, the course it’s self was challenging but the greens ruined everything, won’t be going back there.Reviewer Rating

Poor Course
I have played all 27 holes over the past 2 days and have been both shocked and dismayed by the state of our course. I've seen the condition of the course deteriorate every year recently until it is now in the worst condition for the time of year I have known in all my years playing here. I have also played a number of other local courses over recent weeks and they are all better than ours - indeed some were better than ours 6 weeks ago!Tees are dreadful. Tee grass is long, tees are rutted and patchy and there are both weeds and dandelions growing on them. The men's 12th tee and the ladies Tee on the 24th, for example, are shameful. Some fairways look good from a distance, but again, the grass is often too long, especially when it is lying against you.
Bunkers? Many have grass growing in them, some have hard-packed sand in them as they have not been raked by greens staff and we have been told that, because of a shortage of rakes, "any bunker without a rake in it should be deemed ground under repair," even in a competition. No, I am not joking.
Greens are shocking too. Long grass, uneven amounts of sand on them and the holes in them are still fully open. They are bumpy, putts are frequently badly affected and putting is a lottery, even from 12 inches!
The whole course is in urgent need of care and detailed attention. And yet, we can spend money and time roping off and putting fresh tarmac near the practice putting area.
Maybe the powers that be feel that as long as the club is making a financial profit, everything is fine but unless someone gets a grip, gets a detailed plan of improvement, and there is genuine accountability for some, a beautifully laid out course will continue, at best, to be no better than an average municipal one. Worse, it is likely to keep deteriorating

Played this course yesterday and I have to admit I thought for the monies we paid it was in a terrible condition . The greens were like a beach ( and we were not told before hand) , there was no sand in the bunkers , and the fairways were not cut . On some fairways they had daisy's growing and most of the tee box's were off mats ( in may? ) ,So disappointing . Won't be returning !Reviewer Rating

Terrible
The whole experience here was awful. Staff tried to make us play a different course to the one booked.Tees were poor including 2 that consisted of permanent mats. Bunkers had no sand in them and the Greens were very ropey. Fairways on the holes 10- 18 were very poor, though they did improve on 19- 27
Even the coffee before was lukewarm warm. Glad I was just playing one round and not here for a Sunday driver. Also no practice net and not told that the flags weren't colour coded.

Not worth the money
Course was overpriced for the condition. Greens were okay. Some vandalism on a couple. Bunkers were unplayable. Better courses in Leeds for same amount. Clubhouse is apparently closed Monday to Friday, so no chance of a beverage and a bite to eat, even though it was only 3pm. Very disappointed really.Reviewer Rating

Disappointing Condition
Group of 20 played 2 rounds Sunday / Monday .Firstly to start with a positive, the hotel was excellent- well done .
Unfortunately that’s where the positivity ends .
The greens were very poor, literally had weeds growing on them .
Unfortunately, the tee beds were worse . On some of the tee beds weeds would have been a luxury - there were 3 tee beds that were just completely compacted mud (3rd , 5th 17th) - no grass , not even a weed - just mud .
Obviously there are issues with the course that need resolving as I’ve played previously and was decent .
Won’t play again unless issues resolved .

Awful condition, surprised it was open !
We chose to try this course having seen free times on GolfNow, we were met with a less than enthusiastic reaction in the pro shop. Eventually we got on with 1-9 shut we played holes 10-27. The course was so boggy we literally needed wellies on. Every shot we hit we had to first find in the fairway and then dig out. The course layout was fine, but hard to use any apps as the SI's are all over the place. Such a pity as I hear its a very expensive course in the summer. Afterwards, which was 1pm, we asked for drinks and food but the Hole 19 bar was completely shut. So we left, disappointed. I wouldn't return, as having seen the layout, its not as good as some of the courses around the area and charges much more.Reviewer Rating

Not at its best
Course was not at its best, tees were the worst I have seen in a long time. The greens were poor too. The carvery in the Claret jug on both nights wasn't really edible. The only hotel I have ever been in that doesn't have ice cream for desert. I felt sorry for the young waiters and waitresses as for the lady in charge, she was arrogant and rude. The hotel itself was very nice.Reviewer Rating

Course Great, customer service shocking
Couldn't get a buggy because ?it was too late? and ?they've been out all day and not charged? yet the next group out had them, because they stayed and argued, seems to be a persistent issue depending who?s on the counter speaking to a few. Only ended up doing 11 holes, would have been able to do the 18 with a buggy.Reviewer Rating
