Good condition
After just moving from winter golf Darwen Golf Club was in lovely condition. After the harsh winter the only slight problem was the green being different speeds. Some were quicker than others but all the greens were true, even and in good condition and am sure they will be fast and true in the next few weeks. The rest of the course was excellent. Well done to the green keepers.

Cracker
Darwen is a cracking course, its undulations & slopes make it a real test of golf. There are holes where you can open the shoulders, but equally there are clever holes like the 4th, 5th & 6th where driver may not be the best choice.
The par 3 16th is a stunner.
The greens are in superb condition, the members & the pro all friendly.
Top this off with great views of Darwen Tower & the surrounding area, what's not to like.

Stunning
Stunning course, stunning condition with stunning scenery. What a fantastic course, up, down & along the side of Winter Hill, there's never a flat lie. Not a course to walk if you're not 100% fit, but we'll worth a visit.
The course is in great condition, particularly the greens, superb.
The pro in the shop was great & all the locals very friendly.
Go play it, there's not a bad hole on the course & if your golf's poor, you can just enjoy the scenery.

These will only be better come the summer months it will be one hell of a challenge on dry greens.
Fairways just as good as the greens.
We never used the facilities hence no score and reflect any other reason than that course 12 out of 10.

Nice course worth playing
Second time playing Darwen, this time in one of their open events. Friendly welcome in clubhouse & pro shop. Small putting green outside clubhouse. Course in good condition, greens a little slow but it is open to elements so would be very tricky if greens were quicker. Good variety of holes, nice par 3s especially 16th "postage stamp" where you could hit anything from 9 iron to rescue depending on wind direction/speed. Not for faint hearted as a few hills to negotiate but worth it for the views.Reviewer Rating
