Hit and Miss, But Challenging
I have been here when the greens were terrible, but lately they have been put back in shape and its worth a visit again. It suffers from vandalism, but thats not their fault. Finding your balls amongst the leaves is tiring on some holes, but the challenge of the course is really good. The 11th is one of the hardest holes around and the par 3 7th is a good 3 wood to reach (!). Been playing it a lot lately and will return again soon.Reviewer Rating

I played this course with my society last year and it was terrible the greens were shocking ,BUT having played here today I have to praise crookhill ,the course is in excellent condition the greens are much better ,you can see the work the new greenkeeper is putting in .

Just played this having heard that the new head greenkeeper is making great strides in getting this course looking good and playing even better and I wasn't disappointed at all.
To say it is early December I must say it looks in really good condition and played better than expected even if I didn't!!! It's a good testing course.
Will definitely be a regular visitor to this course. Can't wait to see what it's like in summer if it looks this good now.

fantastic little course
the staff was extremely helpful and very welcoming, the course was beautiful and well kept.the course has no range or chipping area only a putting area for practice.
well worth a visit by any means, very reasonably priced as well.

Really nice course

Great course, but needs some TLC
This course is always challenging and the 11th is the one everyone dreads (well I do). Some good holes and some boring ones, but overall enough to make it worthwhile visiting every now and again for a different challenge. With some investment it could be a fantastic course, but thats unlikely to happen so it will remain good and competitively priced.Reviewer Rating

This is an excellent course, holds water very easily. Can get boggy in places with almost any
Overnight rain. The 11th is an excellent if not very challenging hole even for the low handicapper. The 16th is a personal favourite at under 300yds it's drivable for some but being accurate is a must. Overall the course is good value for money and usually in good nick, streer clear of Thursday morning though as some of the senior members can be very slow and not always inclined to let the faster playing golfers through.
Above all else accuracy is a must. Would recommend.
Round played March. Score 84 handicap 15.2

No customer service !!!!
Where do we start. Phone up to book, only way to speak to someone is to go to membership requires. Was told to book online. Booked online paid ?20 per player. As I checked to see how busy the course was looking we noticed the tee times around us were reduced to ?17.50. Not alot but the principle of the matter. When asked about this was told BRS run the tee booking so wouldn't be able to refund the difference. Now the round !!!!! Fairways in good condition but the greens awful. Some greens dried out and cracked and 1 green has a tree root coming through the turf of the green. Then played signature hole a tree has fallen on the way to the next tee. No way past unless you pick your trolley up and try carrying it over which I can not do. Had to walk 300 yard up the fairway, cross over the pitch crossing and walk all the way down. Not ideal. Clubhouse and prices were fine shame about the part we went for and that was the course. Won't be coming back until doncaster council sort the course !Reviewer Rating

Good fun for us higher handicappers.
Found the course in reasonable nick as municipals go.Plenty of shortish par 4s making life that bit easier for me and the bro-in-law with our 18 handicaps.
Cheap as chips at £11/round through Golf Now.
£7-20 for two pints of hard-earned Guinness afterwards not too bad either!

Greens and fairways are in very good condition. 9 and 15 are cracked/scuffed on the outside due to hot weather last year, tlc needed. Bunker 8 has weeds, GUR! Rough areas are being cut down and tidied up as they should, sprinklers have been uncovered. A good course, averages 4 hours. What else can you do for that price!

Greens in a terrible state
A local municipal course which is generally known to be underfunded which is such a pity as it could be lovely. The greens were in awful condition so thankfully we were just visiting as if I were a member I wouldn't be happy. Course lay out is ok, but I would say there are many better options in Doncaster for ?17 a round which are better cared for. We won't be going back for a while.Reviewer Rating

our society have played crook hill several times in the past , this is why we like to return , but on this occasion we were very disappointed as all the greens were disgusting and we could not hole out a put
