Superb test of golf
Second time playing this course. It's a real challenge. Some of the greens are elevated like you wouldn't believe. Fairways are in great condition. The greens aren't the best but the weather hasn't been great. I was behind a women's comp and they wouldn't let me thru which meant my round took me just over 3 hrs. Not a big deal. I shot 85, handicap 17.4. Very pleased considering I played poorly but scored well.Reviewer Rating

Friendliest course in Brittain
Thanks to Debbie for laying on our Society's visit on Sun 21 Jan 2018 as it was seamless. This club has got to be the friendliest place in Britain as everyone took time to guide us and ensure we had a great experience. Food was superb and plentiful. Greens were amazing to say that we were in deepest darkest winter and there were only 3 Temps.Can't wait to go back in sunnier climes and will definitely be a regular fixture for our Society.

fantastic course
Excellent course although the early morning rain slowed down the greens. Lots of standing water on the fairways but didn't impede play.(Round played: Aug 2017 - Score: 98 Handicap: 24.9)

Surprising course in middle of suburbia
Played in the Fiona Foundation Charity Golf Day for the second year and had another great day. This is a lovely course that allows the average club golfer quite a few opportunities to score well. Great undulating greens as well.(Round played: Jun 2017 - Score: 94 Handicap: 20.9)

I have now played a few local Manchester courses.and this stands up as a quality track..for me..its got interest through out..and what always makes the day is the pro and the green staff who where excellent and the friendly lady in the club house..As arnie says'I ll be back'.

Scenic parkland course with fairways/greens in good condition. Good for all handicappers demanding good course management rather than distance.

played this course in summer and winter now. It was brilliant in summer and it has really held its condition well over the wet weather. Really looking forward to playing it again in summer as it's probably the most fun of the Mersey valley courses. Lovely historic club house and friendly staff.
