I played the course in July in a 3 ball 2,6,8 Handicaps I will not be going back as it is clear that the members want your money but they dont want you on the course we were held up by a four ball of members in front who would not let us through despite spending all morning looking in the trees for their balls and when challenged would still not let us through even though the course was empty in front of them Green staff very friendly and the course is a credit to them obviously not appreciated by the members

Avoid like the plague!! Decent course, but members were awful!!! Played all over the world and never seen anything like it. They certainly don't want you on their course. Held up by a members 4ball (we were a 2, 6 and 8 handicaps) no way were they letting us through despite being in the trees on every hole. Took turns to stand in the middle of the fairway while the other 3 looked in the trees as we waited on the tee, Practice putting as we waited to hit approach shots in and when we asked them about it they were abusive and told us in no uncertain terms that they were members and that we shouldn't be on the course. Sadly they then played even more slowly to reinforce the point. Spoiled the day for us. Course is ok though and greens were true. I wonder how they will feel when people stop going to play there and the fees go up!

Ill start with the good. Nearly all the greens were in good condition. So I suppose I shouldn\'t complain.\\However I feel the need to warn future visitors of the following:\\I booked a two ball on line for £40 and wanted to add another player on the day, but was advised when i booked in, that it would be £45 for the extra player unless I booked it online....\\It became abundantly clear that members don\'t want visitors. They were rude and ignorant in the main.\\All visitors must park in a car park that runs directly alongside the 18th fairway..... Probably for the amusement of the members. So make sure your tee shots are straight. I couldn\'t wait to finish the round, after witnessing first hand everything that isn\'t good about golf. So well done chorley golf club members you\'ve totally convinced me never to return\\ **********. PLEASE NOTE. ********\If you do play the course make sure you book your round online. It\'s £25 cheaper. \\\

Well....you cannot book this direct with the Pro, you have to book online. Weird. Tuesdays is a very busy day, We only just managed to get in. Pro, well I think he was, but I not so sure, wasn't that friendly. There are no electric trollys for hire. You will need one IT IS VERY HILLY!!!!!!!!! £20 for an electric cart!!!! The course? There are a lot of blind tee shots usually to the top of a brow of a hill, then a massive drop down to greens on certain holes. The greens are excellent!!! VERY UNDULATING. but not that quick, thank god. Otherwise you'd be in four putt territory on a lot of them. I thought the rough was a little too long, but hey that's just me. I wouldn't go again. It's a tough walk.

Was a bit disappointed. The course is in a beautiful setting and is quite a test however the reception we got in the pro shop was not great. Also the course needs to make available for sale a course guide especially for 1st time visitors. If you are not fit this course will find you out as it is very hilly and extremely hard work at times.

Nice parkland course

Nice parkland course
A good solid parkland course.A good mix if short & long holes giving a great mix of different challenges.
The greens were superb, fast & true.
Also some great views down across Chorley & up to Rivington.
A must play if in the area.

Cracking Condition
The course is in fantastic condition as it recovers from all the rain.The greens are superb, fast, true & undulating.
There are some great views of Rivington, Chorley & across to Blackpool tower.
If you can get round 'Amen Corner' 3, 4 & 5 unscathed you've done well. Also the 11th is a particularly nice hole.

Cracking start.....
It's a cracking start to this course, the first 4 holes are superb. After that the rest of the holes don't quite live up to the first four. They are good, but not quite as good.It's in great condition & with some fantastic views across Chorley & up to Rivington it's well worth a visit.

Very Good Course
A very good course & playing particularly well considering the rain we've had.It's a superb layout with some good challenging holes using the local contours & a few holes that you can open the shoulders a little.
The greens are superb, flat & true. Someone just needs to train the members how to repair pitch marks.
I've marked down on practice facilities as there were no nets.
The welcome in the shop was good & all the members were friendly.

Great course
This course offers a bit of everything. Tight and open fairways, big and small greens, short holes and par 4 monsters.All in all the greens were in good condition but very undulating and hard to read.

Played this course as my regular playing partner and I are looking for a less hilly course to our current course. First the positives: great track superb greens where your approach needs to find the right area to land to make a score wrong place 4 put land!! Staff very friendly as where the members we met. Negatives: couple of blind holes but these are only blind once, so play it twice and its a gem.

Second time played this course, found it this time a little scruffy in places, some bunkers lacking in sand, some fairways not defined enough. Greens good though, true roll and fairly quick for time of year. Hopefully course condition will improve when drier. Still worth a visit if not played before. Friendly welcome by all concerned. A few hills to negotiate but not to hard on the feet.
