Great course, fairways wide enough to allow some wayward shots but still a challenge to place your ball in the right spot for your second shot. Rough not penal in any way unless you got really offline. Bunkers had plenty of sand in them and 2 members of the ground staff were going round raking them during our round. Greens fast and a little tricky to read but that's what its all about. Played behind a ladies day competition and pace of play was good, the ladies were very friendly. Clubhouse excellent with a good selection of food.

A pleasant challenge

A great mixture of holes and conditions. Par 72 with lots of water. Hole 3 was memorable and great fun. Hole 5 is a real thinker. Would play again.

Really enjoyed the course some really interesting holes and would recommend playing here. But for a Tuesday/Wednesday afternoon the course was way too packed. It took 5 hours for a 2 ball on both days, not sure whether this is over booking or just a big society holding up everyone.

Nice course, VERY slow play

Four of us went for 2 rounds and an overnight stay, Friday and Saturday. Course is nice, mature and picturesque. Medium length and in fairly good nick.
HOWEVER, the pace of play is unbelievably slow. 3 and a half hours for 9 holes. We walked in after 15 on the second day as we all had homes to go to. It's a shame as the course is enjoyable. It really needs a course marshall to ensure things are moving along at a reasonable pace. There were often 3 groups waiting on tees and this was extremely tedious.

Good...but

Course, food and accommodation good, but, couldn't get a bacon roll pre golf before 11am and the old petrol buggy we hired was awful. Fumes from it were choking and unhealthy, can't believe it was in use. No pool. Hot tub was broken.

slow play

two and a half hours for 9 holes . Walked in at that point. Life's too short . At one stage 4 groups on 5th hole. A woman' fourball playing who couldn't hit the ball 50 yards holding everyone up

Worth a visit

Front 9 makes you think, quite tight and not always a drive from the tee. Back 9 is more open and seems to play longer and not as well thought out. Greens are fast ish but true so so bobbling to the hole, if you miss it's your fault! Course was in great condition.
