Mr
Fantastic course, not hilly ideal for seniors . Greens are the best I have played so far, very well kept and fast, although the green are small each has its unique signature highly recommend for any handicap .Pro shop has all essential for any golfer needs, very friendly staff.

Playing it today, I thought the greens were in need of attention. To be fair though, when I played here in the summer months they were pretty decent.
The welcome in the pro shop was very warm and welcoming, and it's a club that seems to have a lot of good things going for it (range, clubhouse), but there's just something about the course that just doesn't appeal to me.

We were a group of 48 and the day went fabulously well. The staff couldn't do enough for us.

Great nick shame about the pollen
Course looks in good condition. Fairways look spongy, a couple had sand down but full of grass. 2nd cut is penal. Around the green was lush and greens were fast and quite hard. Like a parkland course but with Links type greens. Tricky conditions if you don't find the fairways.Reviewer Rating

Great - but tough
Lovely setting and the staff made us very welcome. Couldn't fault the tees and the greens were probably the best we've played on this year - the ball ran true and fast!A really good test, but if you stayed 3m off the fairway the cut grass covered your ball and could spoil an otherwise good round.

In need of some love
Cherry Lodge feels in need of some love, particularly the greens. The course itself isn’t bad, though I certainly don’t find it an inspiring layout. For example 1 and 4 are played down the same corridor and 2 and 5 as well; one as a par 5 the other as a par 4. The course gets better from 8 onwards with some nice sweeping par 5s and challenging par 4s.
But the greens were not good. Very slow indeed, tufty grass in places and the signature two tiered 16 had the slope looking less like a green and more a rather untidy apron. It seemed like they’d been designed to be receptive (they were) but had become puddings. Yes the recent wet weather may not have helped but most of June has been bone dry.
Too many trees near some greens meaning they don’t get air and light. The soft surfaces meant that the only way in was aerial and golf courses which force a player to come in only one way are not good courses. Oh for a bump and run.
